Live Fonts Cache - Speed Increase

Posted by Alex Alexzander
Hey Guys, give this a try and let me know what happens.

Take any project you have in Motion that consistently doesn't achieve 30 frames per second.

Go into your Preferences.

Change the Cache Path under the section LiveFonts to a hard drive other than the boot drive your Motion application is installed on.

Unload Motion.

Then start Motion, and re-launch your project. Test the project for FPS again.

Let me know if it is faster please.

Thank you!!

My 2¢:

In general, You should always cache everything away from the boot drive. Just let the boot drive run the apps - that's it. The cache should be directed to your RAID Array or other fast drive. That's why my FCP never crashes...my scratch disks are set to my SCSI RAID tower.
