The problem is caused by installing 10.4.3, regardless of whether you are running Motion 2.0 or 2.01, if you have a Decklink card set to "Video Desktop" On.

The temporary solution is to turn off video desktop on you Decklink card. Apple will fix the problem in the OS in a future OS X release and are fully aware of the problem. Indeed, they've been working very hard since I pointed it out to them to come to a solution.

I'm now back up and running in Motion, and can finish my current project.

When the output is set to a Kona2 card in motion and FCP is open at the same time, both apps seem to get flakey. They seem to get locked in a tug of war, not releasing the Kona card. Just have to set the output of Motion to "none" in the preferences/output tab.

Joe,

You can't have 2 apps fighting for the same Output pipeline. You will get a "general error" and one of them will have to be shut down (or just deselect the Kona card as the output for one of the apps).
