Basic 3D jumpy...

Hi everyone. I'm still learning my way around this app, and am having an issue that I can't figure out.

I created a multi-layered lower third, fairly large (2000px X 200) that I wanted to animate and fly in 3D. It has about 5 layers to it. I saved it as a PSD then imported all the layers into motion.

One of the PS layers is a stylized wheel that I animated using it's rotation properties. It worked fine. However, when I applyed the Basic 3D filter to the entire motion layer, the entire graphic started jumping (kinda like a slight wiggler effect from AE). When the filter is unchecked the GFX becomes still and PS layer rotates normally.

Is there something I'm doing wrong that's causing this jumpiness? I'm mostly used to 3D animation in AE and this is a lot different from what I'm used to.

Have you tried checking fixed resolution box on the layer?

Well, sort of. I checked fixed resolution, and when it confirmed 720 X 480, and hit ok, it croped my lower third. Should I have fixed the resolution higher?
