Draw line on map without covering text.

How do I get a line to continue drawing on a map without covering my text. My text are all separate words that I did in Motion but I am having a hell of a time trying to get a line to continue drawing on a map from one point to another without covering the words.

Put the words in a layer above the line?

I just posted a question about drawing a line on a map and then I saw your post. I am new to Motion so I don't have an answer for you but would like to ask you a question. How did you draw the line? I cannot figure out how to draw a red line over a map to show movement. The line will increase in length as it moves over a specific path across a map from one point to the next. Can you help? Thanks!
