star wipe with sparkles?

star wipe with sparkles?

Okay, here's one:

I've long known how to use the Sparkle particle emitters to create an edge wipe with a trail of sparkles. That's easy enough. But, what if you wanted to create a star wipe with a trail of sparkles? Is there a way to attach the emitter to the outline of a shape, and then expand as the shape expands? Is there a better way to do this?

I can imagine a workaround in which you create ten edge wipes in the shape of a star, and then try to finesse them by changing the size of the line to look like a star wipe. But, that would take too long to be worth the time/money for the production.

Is there any sort of elegant way to do this?

Thanks!

Hmm... I'm having trouble getting it to behave as I thought it would...
I'd suggest trying this:
Create the wipe shape, and animate it as you wish.
Then, take the Sparkle particle emitters, and set the Shape to Image, the Arrangement to Outline, and drag the aforementioned wipe shape to the Image Source well.
Let us know how it works!
