Bringing video from FCP to Motion

For some reason, I always have issues when it comes to sending video from FCP to Motion. My original video is anamorphic so I have the black crops on top and bottom. When I send the video to Motion, it distorts the picture and I can't work properly on the project file? Does anyone know what the solution to a clean workflow with FCP and Motion would be?

If your sequence has letterboxing on it, you're using the wrong sequence settings. If the material is anamorphic and has the anamorphic check in the FCP browser you should be editing into an anamorphic sequence.

Anamorphic settings need to match your FCP sequence settings. Also check in the View menu to see if the Correct for Aspect Ratio setting is activated.
