Anyone trying Motion out on a Dual G4? Is it workable?
I will be your guinea pig there, bro. I am on a Dual 1 Ghz G4 / 1.5 Gig RAM.

Performance will be much better with more system RAM and a graphic card with lots of video ram. If you can get a new card with 256 VRAM, then Motion should be pretty decent. Max out your system RAM while you're at it.

I would be interested in your performance with a dual 1 G mac, I too have 1.5 Gig of RAM and a NVidea GForce 4 MX with 64 Meg of VideoRam. This graphics card did no make the minimum requirements on Apples website, so any feedback from a user would be great.

Don,

I am hoping that, at the very most, I will have to get a suped-up video card and nothing else. I do not possess the finances to buy a G5 at this time, but a couple hundred $$$ for a super-fast video card might be justified winking smiley

Yes, If Apple don't allow their product run on non-high-end system. for sure, their product life will be short. Same story about Softimage or Maya, in the past they need a very high-end TURE OpenGL card, however, now a day, almost every game-level OpenGL card could run it without any problem.

We don't mind for less performance at the beginning, because of without budget for an $$$ OpenGL card. At least, let us to taste it first.

Good Luck to Motion

ps: I just order my copy on Hong Kong Apple Online Store, not sure when will be on-hand.
