I read that motion 2.0 was capable of 32-bit, but I don't see that option anywhere in the settings. How do you switch from 16-bit to 32-bit?

thanks,

ryan

The view button in the top right of the Canvas. You can choose to disable it for viewing purposes to speed up playback. 32-bit is really only useful for film-level resolution.

I don't have anything in the view menu that says "32-bit".

Sorry, was doing that from memory. Go to project properties (command-J). You can set the bit depth there. Then, under the view menu, you can choose whether or not to preview in float.

I think you need one of the high end graphics cards (like the 6800, X850, etc) to get 16 bit and 32 bit float support. You surely don't get that with a FX5200 or 9600 range card. Not sure about the ATI 9800 range.

Must be, because I still don't see a bit option in project properties.

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure that the card doesn't have anything to do with it. If you are running version 2.0, there should be a bit options in project properties.

Hey, Mark!
Actually, we were both partially right and partially wrong smiling smiley

The option is there indeed in Project Properties. And it does work for 16 bit. But when you choose 32 bit float a sign warns you that "Your hardware doesn't support this resolution" or something like that.

I hope I get rid of this poor GeForce FX soon!

All the best,
Adolfo

Float support (e.g. 16- and 32-bit) requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), the options will not appear if you are running under OS X 10.3 (Panther).

Check [www.apple.com] for the system requirements.
