HD Render Setting HELL!

I am trying to render out a file to be played back in an "Abekas Clipstore" this is a DVR in a control room environment.

I need to be at 1920 x 1080i with a fps of 59.94. What settings are recommended. I've tried everything. Should I use UPPER or Lower field dominance; what data rate. Should my compressor be a Animation?, Video?, or what I am at my witts end. As you can tell I am just diving into this process head first and my head hurts. The problem is that the Abekas will not identify the clip. I am in touch with Abekas on this subject but would like some feed back from my fellow Mac Heads.

If the Abekas will not identify the clip, ask your operator exactly what format / dimensions they need (wrong format is probably what's causing it to be unrecognizable). You have to find out exactly how the clips are ingested, are they converted to something else, what are the acceptable formats & codecs (Quicktime / AVI / etc).

I don't know anything about this unit but I am guessing it's not Mac-based so I would bet that since the unit is PC based you need to render a 1920x1080i (Upper Field) 59.94 AVI.

Give that a shot - let me know what happens.

Thanks for the tid bit of info. Abekas obviously knows of the issue and is working on a codec that will accept QT from a Mac. Good old trial and error seems like the answer for now. Thanks for the help.
