import ai to motion - i do not have illustratorPosted by mark@avolution
Yeah, I think there's an issue with PC generated .ai files. You might want to take a look at Vector Designer:

i tried this app, but it doesn't do ai as export.
I think i'll log this into "I give up as I use PS on a PC" bin! markspencer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yeah, I think there's an issue with PC generated > .ai files. You might want to take a look at Vector > Designer: > > [www.tweakersoft.com]
Now I have Illustrator (on a Vista machine), but I can only read pdf
files from it, and ai files are greyed out. I want to create shapes in illustrator and use them as emission sources for particles, but so far I am stumped... (and I believe pdf is a raster format) mark@avolution Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i tried this app, but it doesn't do ai as export. > > I think i'll log this into "I give up as I use PS > on a PC" bin! > > > markspencer Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Yeah, I think there's an issue with PC > generated > > .ai files. PDF is a vector format, if you save your Illustrator files as .pdf, they will be vector in Motion, you just need to turn off fixed resolution. But Motion reads .ai files as well - you may need to first open and save them on a Mac, I've heard Motion won't read PC .ai files directly but haven't tested it...
