Need advise for title sequence

I'm making a title sequence using running Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro - Motion 4.

I want the text to gradually increase in size. My Apple One on One trainer suggested that I apply a grow/shrink behavior, but it's causing problems. The title ingreases in size, disapears, but then comes back for a few frames. It's a touchy setting, I've tried adjusting it to no avial. Please explain how do bring text forward with a camera. I appoligize, I know this is an elementary question. I've not had any luck finding a tutorial online.

Also, I added a "Ghostly Out" to the title so it will disapear in a ghost-like way. Are there any other things I can add/try to get that effect?
