sound transitions

I can't seem to find the sound transitions that I need to do a trailer for my next documentary.
I also seem to have so much trouble finding the words to describe the sounds that I need.
It's not a whoosh but it's more of a heavy metal clang that one hears on trailers to make a dramatic point. Sort of like Keith Olberman on his "Countdown" news segment or perhaps a large and dull metallic thud. I can't find it on Soundtrack Pro nor sites like Sounddogs and all the others I've visited online.

Is there anyone out there that knows of a cd compilation of what I'm after? I'd offer half of my kingdom to the one who does.

STP has lots of sfx. Go to the "Search" tab >pull down menu for "Sound Effects" and there will be a list of stuff. You can also use the search window to type in specific words: whoosh, clang, thud, etc.
