soundtrack Pro "Uncaught Exception"

We are using Soundtrack Pro to create a foreign language version of a video series. I have been having Errors "Uncaught Exception"pop up especially when trying to export tracks and/or an AAF file export for another editor to be able to open our work in his ProTools.
We ripped the video from DVD to an MPEG and the stereo audio to MP4 files. All our recordings have been made within STP, saved as AIFF files, multitrack project is 48khz, 16 bit.
Is there something I have set wrong possibly? I tried the same process on another computer as well, a MacBook Pro, same result. The first machine I have been trying this on is a PowerPC G5.
The recording and editing process is going well. We are saving all our work on an external FW800 HD.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
ps, I am working on this in a small community up north of the Arctic Circle, so internet is limited.

You mentioned that you ripped the DVD to MP4 files. What is the audio codec specifically of the source you input to STP?
Try ripping the audio to AIFF or PCM instead.
