Bad sound recording fix?

After logging some video clips into FCP, I've found that the lapel mike on our subject wasn't on for two clips and that the only sound that was recorded was from the camera mike. Does anyone know whether or not there is a way in STP to "tighten up" the sound so that the "hollow" sound with that sort of fuzzy white noise in the background is removed and you just have a clean voice recording?

There really is no good way to fix this type of FUP. If perhaps the speaker audio was a high above the background noise; STP may be able to somewhat deaden the background noise, so giving a try would not be out of the question.
