No Audio

Hi guys
I have aissuse i hope you could help me..
1- when i put the media into time line i don't hear the audio from my external Pro tools (headphone).
2-most of my sound effect turn red (means i can not use it)
i checked the pref and everything seem right..
any Idea>>?
G5 3.5 g ram FCP 5.4 sound track pro

1- Putting media on the timeline of Soundtrack Pro and you want to hear it from where?

2 - Red ususally indicates that the loop or sound that was there is no longer.
