Audio out of sync when returning to FCP
June 03, 2009 12:08PM
Have Final Cut Studio 2 with the lastest download upgrades for my Mac Pro.

From FCP I use File - Export- Export for Soundtrack pro.

I normalize and eq the audio, the in soundtrack File - export- leave current settings.

When I open in FCP the audio starts in sync then gradually the audio is faster than the video.

any idea why?

This problem is with any footage, DV NTSC 29.23fps, DVCPro 60i, and so on

What are the current settings in your export? If your sample rate is different than the source sample rate, you can get sync problems. Make sure you're not exporting at 44.1khz sample rate.

Hope this helps!

I just posted the exact same problem in the FCP forum.

I'm in PAL country and i get the sound to be slower.

This has happened after upgrading to FCP 7

Edit:
I should mention that I´m using the "send" command from Final cut, no export.

I had this same issue, no idea what the hell was causing it but using Final Cut Studio Maintenance pack [www.digitalrebellion.com] i dumped all the preferences from fcp and stp and did used the housekeeping app then after a restart exported the mixdown back from stp to fcp and it was in sync. dont ask me why but it worked.

good luck.
