STP looses synch

STP looses synch
November 03, 2009 02:19AM
So, I have googled this subject and I find A LOT of people have this issue but so far no good solution.

My problems started after upgrading to FCP 7. Before I have had the same worklflow for years without any trouble.

This is what I do:
I do a mix of all my audio clips on the timeline.
Eport the mix as an aif file and bring that back in to the timeline and put it below the original
audio clips.
I send the aif mix to STP and do my thing and save the file.
When I go back to FCP the clip is out of synch. Since I put the exported file below the
original clips, I can easily compare.

I have tried all the usual methods like trashing all prefs and see to it that all prefs in STP are set to PAL standard.
Does anyone have a good solution for this? Apple doesn´t seem to care to much about this problem unfortunately...

Thank's.

Check the Actions window of your clips in STP. If you see "red" check boxes under the On column, this indicates that the effect you are using is destructive to the timing, i.e. it retimes. One of the effects that do this is the Adaptive Limiter.

Stay away from these effects and your piece will remain intact.
