In and Out Points - Handles - 11 years ago
Good Morning All, FCP 7 - Log and Transfer from SD Card - I mark all in and out points when logging and transferring but the in and out points show as media start and media end points in the browser. When I double click a clip in the timeline to bring it into the Viewer I can't change the out point (media end). So, two questions: What am I doing wrong in the log and transfer operation and whyby bmart - Café LA

Out of Memory Error - 12 years ago
Good Afternoon All, Trying to create a 15 minute movie using approximately 300 stills. Using a MacBook Pro Retina, 8gb ram and FCP 7. Can't render - get an "Out of Memory" error every time. All stills use default duration of 3 seconds. No fades or effects at this time. Using Pro Rez LT. any suggestions. Barryby bmart - Café LA

Hi Jon, I was reviewing a lesson on Lynda.com and the browser window showed the Effects tab and right beside it was another tab called Lighting. The Lighting tab had a number of effects, similar the the Effects tab that could be applied to clips in the timeline.by bmart - Café LA

FCP 7 Font Families - 12 years ago
Hi Guys, I have the full Fruitiger font family on my system but FCP 7 only gives me the option of Plain, Bold, Italic and Bold Italic. Is it possible to use the rest of the Fruitiger family. For example, I use Fruitiger Black in some of my design work. The full font family gives a little extra flexibility. Barryby bmart - Café LA

Hello FCP'ers FCP 7.0.3 OK, I've tried all the suggestions and even went through a lengthy reinstall but color balance and all video filters will not work. If I export the file to "Color" and make adjustments then send it back to FCP I can adjust color no problem. Rendering in "Color" takes forever. I'd like to make color corrections within FCP like I used to. Sorry to bby bmart - Café LA

Can't run, can't count and I don't know any spells ... but I'll try your other solution. Of course I always leave color corrections until the end of the edit so it's a bit of a task now. Thanks.by bmart - Café LA

Good Morning Everyone, Silly problem. Color Balance won't work! I move the playhead to the clip and then highlight the clip. Then I go to Effects/Image Control/Color Balance. I drag Color Balance and drop it on the clip. Then I go to the viewer, click filters and the Color Balance controls are displayed. The problem is, the sliders do not change anything and inputting numbers does nothing as wby bmart - Café LA

Newbie Question. Each time I do a Log and Transfer, all previous clips show up even if they are not on the SD card. I just shot 12 new clips on a formatted SD card and about 200 clips, some duplicated, appeared in the clip list. Can't cut them from the list or eliminate them in any way. I'm sure it's simple but I can't see a way. Cheers Barryby bmart - Café LA

Hello All, This is my first post and I am just past the beginner level with FCP7. My equipment is limited. I will be shooting a series of short (5 minute) videos using three Canon AVCHD cameras and I'd like to use the multiclip feature in FCP7 for editing. Camera options for shooting are 24, 17, 12, 7 & 5 Mbps. I'd like the best res possible for 16:9 output.Video will be used on our web siby bmart - Café LA
