Why is the Credit Roll exported from Motion 4.03 choppy? - 11 years ago

Hi, I created a credit roll in Motion 4.03. I've tweaked and exported it many times successfully. However, this time the QT was choppy. It's a SD project. I tried exporting: current settings (NTSC Broadcast SD), Apple Pro Res 422, lossless + Alpha movie. Computer: Mac Pro 2.66 Ghz Quad-core Mac OS X V. 10.6.8 12 GB Memory Suggestions? Thank you!

Jude you're correct, the footage is not great to begin with. I just want to reduce the noise. Are you familiar with any noise reduction filters or plug ins?

Is it possible to clean up video noise on old archival footage in FCP 7 or Motion 4 or 5? Or, does it need to be done professionally? We found archival footage on YouTube -- two B & W 16 mm films shot in 1920. The video noise is a lot more noticeable in the sharper, expensive standard def footage we licensed. Thank you!

Hi, Using the mouse that came with my Mac Pro is irritating my injured right shoulder. I bought an Apple Magic Trackpad. Other than the fact that it's wireless, I don't love it. What good is extra RAM for FCP 7? - 13 years ago

I have a Mac Pro with FCP 7. When I zoom or pan on a still, it sputters. I thought that was because it needed more memory, so I upgraded from 3 GB to 12. Now, I see no difference in FCP's efficenccy. Other World Computing told me that FCP 7 can only use 4 GBs of Memory. Is that true? If so, what's the point of upgrading? What is causing the stills to sputter? My settings are: Appli

Everyone, thank you so much for your advise! I bought a new 400 mini 4pin to 800 firewire cable and plugged it directly into the computer. I read in the manual that the Z1U should be connected AFTER the software is launched. So, doubled checked all the settings, launched FCP, connected the camera. It worked!!! Hi Jude, I wish it were that simple. I've done all of the above. I'm getting an error message "Unable to locate the following external devices: HDV (1440 x 1080)60i" The camera is set to HDV in VCT mode connected to the computer via firewire. Could it be a camera setting? It's not my camera. On the menu in the camera it says HDV/DVin HDV 1080i. I followed the Easy Set

Hi, I'm making a title sequence using running Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro - Motion 4. I want the text to gradually increase in size. THANK YOU, Derek and Strypes! I did not know about APPLE-9 keystroke. I have much to learn. When I followed your instructions, the clip was 720 x 486 10 bit uncompressed, as it should be. I have a section of my film that has visual effects. The film was shot on standard definition mini-DV. I want best quality possible, so I paid a post house to capture my NTSC mini-DV footage uncompressed 10 bit. I just tried to export clip from this uncompressed 10 bit footage in FCP 7. Hi, I have a G5 running OSX 10.4.7 and FCP 5.0. I just bought a clever, little USB pre-amp called MicPort Pro to simplify recording VO. I can record a VO in Garage Band with it. But, I can't figure out how to record in FCP. There isn't any movement in the sound meters in Log and Capture or the VO interface. I probably need to change a setting. They gave another day. Being that I'm burning the disks in iDVD, and it only takes QT movies I couldn't do any other options mentioned. I ended up making three disks - 2 + hours per disk. Thanks for your help! Colleen

I'm editing standard DV and I have a lot of footage because I'm making a documentary. I've noticed that about regular drives are too slow. That's why I prefer internal drives. Thanks so much! That's it. I looked under documents and sure enough, there was a FCP folder full of vault files, render files etc. I'll have reset FCP and buy another firewire drive because my terabyte is almost used up. Problem solved! Do I drag and copy the vault files to the other drive, or do I need to relink or do it in a certain way? Thank you so much!!!
