I have an HDMI cable going from my iMac 27 to the HDMI input on a Samsung monitor but can only achieve a mirror image of my iMac screen. A step by step guide would be most appreciated. Thank you.by Hiker - Café LA - X Re: FCP-X record back to HDV deck? - 7 years agoThanks Tim for your response. Sorry for the late reply. Will the digital file still be HDV having originally imported it as HDV?by Hiker - Café LA - X Re: HDV capture? - 7 years agoThanks Craig for your response to my question. It is important that I retain the HDV quality in my final project, however, when I check the footage out on an excellent monitor it seems to be lacking the HDV sharpness. Is there another method that I can use to determine if it is indeed HDV? Thanks again.by Hiker - Café LA - X HDV capture? - 7 years agoI am new to FCP-X having been using 7 for many years. When capturing HDV directly from my Sony HDV deck into FCP-X is the footage automatically captured in the HDV format? If capturing 4K would this be captured automatically as 4K? I have not been able to find an answer to this question in any manual. Thanks in advance for your response.by Hiker - Café LA - X Re: Recommend the best book for FCPX newbie? - 7 years agoThanks Michael. Yes I still have the old system up and running so this is an excellent work-around. Eventually I hope to retire the old system so I am still searching for a method to go straight from FCPX to tape.by Hiker - Café LA FCP-X record back to HDV deck? - 7 years agoi have just switched from the former FCP to the FCPX and have no problem importing footage from my Sony HDV deck, however, when I want to record it back to the same deck I cannot find a method. I can produce a Quicktime composite or mpg4 composite but then need to record it onto tape on the HDV deck. Your guidance would be most appreciated. Thanks.by Hiker - Café LA FCP 10.6.8 to FCP X - 7 years agoI am still using FCP 10.6.8 on my older Mac but trying the 30 day demo of FCP X on my iMac 27". My problem is as follows: When I capture HDV video from my Sony HDV1080i deck into my older Mac using FCP 10.6.8 and then export the footage to an HD QT composite the aspect ratio is 1920x1080. When I transfer this same composite to my iMac using FCP X it still retains the same aspect ratio 192by Hiker - Café LA - X Need to provide client with an FCP file small enough to email' - 8 years agoMac OS 10.6.8 FCP 5.1.4 I need to provide client with an FCP file small enough to email while retaing the aspect ratio of 1440x1080. I rendered a file, however, it did not retain proper aspect even though I marked it to do so. Any suggestions? Thanksby Hiker - Café LA Re: Digitized in wrong format. - 8 years agoThanks Nick. In the interest of time I had to proceed with the project and recaptured all of the footage and did a re-edit. It only ran 4:45 so it only took a day of editing. I didn't see your response until just now. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.by Hiker - Café LA Re: Digitized in wrong format. - 8 years agoI tried everything but could not achieve my goal. Looks like I will have to re-digitize all of the footage and then re-edit the project. My fault for not being careful enough.by Hiker - Café LA Re: Digitized in wrong format. - 8 years agoThanks very much D.C. This sounds like exactly what I need. I will give it a try immediately.by Hiker - Café LA Digitized in wrong format. - 8 years agoMac OS 10.6.8 FCP 5.1.4 I accidentally digitized my original HD footage from videotape without using the squeeze format. I completed the editing on the 4:45 minute video and then discovered the error of my ways. Is there any method to reformat this footage to the 1440x1080 format without having to re-edit the entire video? Thanks in advance for your guidance.by Hiker - Café LA |
