I mainly need a cameraperson, I can provide a DVX100 and will handle editing (unless it's advantageous to you to do the edit for reel purposes). If interested, reply here or email me. Why isn't it possible to change the media start time in the browser? Feature request?by Tony Donaldson - Café LA Re: Is there a way to change the timecode start on a clip to be captured? - 16 years agoJames. You are the man. Creating a new device control preset, or a copy of the one I was using and changing the pre-roll, made it work. Everyone else, I love you guys. Seriously. Thank you. I'm a still photographer, I live in Photoshop, and though I work in Final Cut quite a bit, not daily like many of you. As always, you've come through with the answer. -Tonyby Tony Donaldson - Café LA Re: Is there a way to change the timecode start on a clip to be captured? - 16 years agoTom, Thanks. The clip IS offline, I'd archived the project and taken the media off my drives after it was finished. Now I have to reload it. Can I change it in the browser? Clicking on it there does nothing. I can change the in/out times, but not the media start time. TIAby Tony Donaldson - Café LA Re: Is there a way to change the timecode start on a clip to be captured? - 16 years agoAm I guessing there isn't a way? or is there another forum I can check, outside LAFCPUG? I've seen nothing in the FAQ or this forum, so perhaps nobody here knows.by Tony Donaldson - Café LA Is there a way to change the timecode start on a clip to be captured? - 16 years agoI have a project I did previously in FCP 4.5. Have to revisit it and re-edit the project, I've since upgraded to 5.1.4 and some of the clips are against the edge of preset timecode. E.g. on one tape it striped it a minute beforehand, but when I had to quickly switch tapes, my DVX started earlier timecode. Now when FCP goes to find the beginning of the clip, it wants to have a little pre-roll andby Tony Donaldson - Café LA Re: Cannot transfer movie files? - 16 years agoCan I just say how much I love forums. You guys were SOOO right! It was a formatting issue. It showed up when I plugged it in, I just took the lazy route and dragged the files over. Wow, makes you realize how bad life is for the Windows people, no files over 5 GB. THANK YOU!!!by Tony Donaldson - Café LA Re: Cannot transfer movie files? - 16 years agoThanks guys, I'll try that. The error is -1329 I think. Looked that up, it was "unexpected end of file", yet the file seems intact and plays fine all the way through.by Tony Donaldson - Café LA Cannot transfer movie files? - 16 years agoI'm trying to send a whole project to someone, using an external drive. The media for the project is on an internal drive. I dragged the folder over to the other drive, it started copying but gave me an error message. I took the files one-at-a-time, everything works but two of the largest media files, one is 5 GB the other is 11. I can copy them to my internal drives, but not external. The minor inconvenience to us is nothing compared to the lack of new spam and more importantly the great community this site provides. Was happy to sign in (I rarely am, but in this case VERY happy to make an exception), grateful for having this site and the LAFCPUG in general as a resource! -Tony Donaldsonby Tony Donaldson - Café LA |
