(Just in case you made the same mistake as I did) Press m twice to get the dialogue window up instead of just pressing it once. And as Foley pointed out, make sure the timeline, not the track, is being marked.by Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: Good tutorial on title effect? - 16 years agoWayne is right - Trapcode Shine is a great tool for this. Go to www.trapcode.com and look it up. There is a tutirial as well as the plugin which you can download as a trial.by Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoThanks, yeah I know its jumpy but it was sup[posed to look like an old TV broadcast in Russia so it fits I guess. Its Cinema 4D and After effectsby Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoHal Thanks for that I was suspecting that was the case. I'll just redesign the menus and get it to work - its close enough. Have a look at the intro to the DVD if you can be bothered. Its on my web page under "motion". Its called 'babusjka'.by Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: Sound out of sync - 16 years agoMy workflow is export from FCP to QT Uncompressed. I import that file to DVD SPRO and encode natively in the application when I build. Johanby Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: wonky graphics - 16 years agoWhat quality settings do you have on your timeline? if it looks fine when rendered out then it is fine - as a rule.by Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoHal thanks again for your help. I did the tutorials and I managed to get it to work - almost. My problem now is that if I am at a menu and press "menu" on the remote, (Hoping to get back to the previous menu) the DVD instead jumps back to the last played track. This is probably due to the fact that between menus I have an animation that is a movie track. example Menu 1 - Menuby Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoThanks Hal. I'll jump right into it!by Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Sound out of sync - 16 years agoJust made a DVD of a concert recording. Its 1 hour long. The sound slips a few frames right from the start and seems to be out of sync for the duration of the DVD. There is nothing wrong with the actual file - it is in sync. Why is this? Can it be fixed?by Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoHal Thanks for your input. It makes a lot of sense but I am just to inexprienced with programming in DVDSPRO to fully understand how to do it. Any tutorials you can recommend?by Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoyes its already set up How do i script which menu to go to? I tried and failed.... A bit new to DVDSPRo scripting so this may be a simple question. i have made a DVD with several submenus. I want to be able to skip straight from a track and back to the submenu. It works fne on a regular DVD but not on the DVD that comes with the mac - DVD PLAYER. Notby Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: Music from late 60's - 16 years agoThere is quite a bit out there that you can license, but as Derek mentioned, it wont be The Beatles. You'd be surprised though - some of it is well known and good. I had a library in my old office in Australia with famous 60s tracks you could buy. I know how to do it in Australia but I have no clue for US. Let us know how you go.by Johan Polhem - Café LA next button on Mac DVD player - 16 years agoHey Guys A bit new to DVDSPRo scripting so this may be a simple wuestion. i have made a DVD with several submenus. Anyone know how to do this?by Johan Polhem - DVD Studio Pro Re: OT- G5- old but CHEAP- should I buy it? - 16 years agoThats pretty much the exackt machine I have been using for a few years now. To be honest, the difference between that machine and the new ones at work is not that great. Its not like comparing a G5 to a G4 - not even close.by Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: Mac Spots - 16 years agoI would go for a cyc. keying takes time and if you shoot on digital the results may not be perfect. Chroma keying also demands more from your gaffer. Also, Mini DV and HDV especially are almost impossible to key to perfection. Shooting on a white cyc will be cheaper and easier and definately without a doubt - produce a better result. The only reason you'd go with chroma key is if youby Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: color not working - 16 years agotrust me on this one - Dont bother. Color is far from finished and still has too many flaws to be considered in a workflow.by Johan Polhem - Color Re: Art of the Edit? - 16 years ago"I thing one of the most under rated docs out there is " Loose Change 2nd Edition " especially the parts on the pentagon. His explanation on what happened to the planes that hit the world trade... That was a bit hard to take with the crazy math as part of the explanation. A very compelling doc thought. I have been VERY slow with that. I just moved overseas and basically I have been busy. I'll get on it as I have more time now. Ill do the part 2 first and then if I have time, the After Effects one. Johanby Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: Faking Camera Movement - 16 years ago"i also saw this in johans demo real" -Didnt i send you a description of how it works? In theory its really quite simple, the results depends on your source material. i would def recommend After Effects over Shake for something like this. Maybe its tutorial time? but where to post an After Effects tutorial here?by Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: converting 16:9 FHA to 4:3 in FCP - 16 years ago"his will come back to haunt me and it I can (with confidence) do this conversion in FCP that would be Brilliant."\ This is really quite simple. You have 2 options: Letterbox or cut the sides off to fit 4:3. Either one of them should take you no more than a few seconds in FCP. Just place the final anamorphic timeline into a 4:3 timeline and adjust it there. Automatically iby Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: Check out my video - 16 years agoI like it. The audio is annoying tho.by Johan Polhem - Show and Tell Re: frame rate - 16 years agoYes, there is. Problem is you can only set it BEFORE you import your media. So if you have already started grading I recommend you save the grades, start up a new project, then reimport the footage and then re-apply the grades.by Johan Polhem - Color Re: Art of the Edit? - 16 years ago"Michael Mann's Heat and John Woo's The Killer are two editing classics in action" -Agreed, Heat is one of the most accomplished movies ever made. Its basically perfect. The editing in "The Ring" is interesting to study as well. I saw a training DVD on editing just recently and I remember thinking to myself that I wish I saw that years ago. Ill dig it up and tell yoby Johan Polhem - Show and Tell Re: Monitor Calibration hell - 16 years agoThanks. I will give this a tryby Johan Polhem - Café LA Monitor Calibration hell - 16 years agoGuys. I have an issue with our broadcast monitors. We have been having problems where the footage we grade in our suite looks great, but when broadcasted on TV it looks like crap. Is too dark and too saturated. I just dont understand how to calibrate the monitors we have? I can use that blue gel to look through but that makes it much much worse and we cant adjust the HUE or Phase shiby Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: What is the normal Pay Scale for editors - 16 years agoIn Syd I get about $400-$1000/day depending on the job. Fulltime you'd get about 70 - 80K in OZ if you are good, about 40k if you're a junior. In Norway i charge about $110k/year and I work less.by Johan Polhem - Café LA Re: Fragmented Captures - 16 years agoYou probably have a setting ticked that separates your capture into different clips on timecode breaks. So the separation apepars when there is a brake in your timecode. These breaks can also happen if the drive you are capturing to is too slow.by Johan Polhem - Café LA |
