I did not say the HDs are not replaceable- The reason I posted this is so others would know about the HD issue Apple care Only lasts 3 years at most so it is almost certain that a Imac will have to go back to apple to be replaced the HD and because of the having to OEM drives its bound to be Expensive- and Yes I the technical ability and tools to change the drive Myself - Thanks for askingby Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Hi All-- I was going to buy a new Imac tomorrow but then a read this from OWC - Its likely a deal breaker for me - OucH Looks like to replace a HD in a 2011 Imac you HAVE to take it to apple and use Apple oem drives because of a temp sincere and firmware available only from apple - below is a link to the page OWC Imac pageby Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Hi All-- I am capturing DVCam footage using DSR20 to FCP 5.1 with a G5 2Gig Dual-- Its been awhile since I have used FCP and I forgot how to set things so that I can Hear Audio playback during Log and Capture- Also-- I read today in the news that One in 14 software downloads made to windows Pcs from the Internet have some Virus type stuff in it- --- OucH ---- Happy Mac user 14 yrby Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Hi All-- I just had my G5 finally die so I purchased a used G5 exactly like my other one- I removed and installed my system drive with all software and all video drives - FCP 5.1 --G5 dual 2 gig --OSX Leopard When I opened FCP and the other pro apps it asked for the serial number- I typed in the serial number and it says the serial number is Not Correct - I did a search on the LAFCPby Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Hi All -- I am not worried at all about FCP getting scuttled -- Every person I know that has a Mac - is using FCP -- Apple has made several thousand $$ from me for FCP -- The pro apps is what makes most people buy a mac -- Anybody can surf the web on a pc just fine - All the the new towers and lap tops are not made to be web surfers - I do wish apple would update the inteby Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Run your cables so that they cross at 90 degrees to each other- when you run cables together in a straight bundle they can pick up a Hum from each other --Jay--by Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Hi All -- This is even more OT -- My 93 year old father is using FF3.5 -- I just visited him and he had over 20 Tab windows Open- Mac was locked up -- Is there a way to Turn Off tabs ??? I looked on Mac and have searched online with no luck -- Thanks--Jay--by Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

Hi All I want to tell you that I am Happy that I decided to learn and use FCP many years ago - When I started using FCP I was the Only person I knew using FCP and one of the Few people that even had a Mac FCP has been By Far the Most Stable editing software that I have ever used- I have had only Minor problems and Very Few of them - I have never had a glitch in a project when prby Jay Beeson 1 - FCP Feature Requests

Hi All-- I am taking some online training that the videos are in WMV files -- I have just downloaded Flip4mac so that I can watch them-- All I get is the Audio and a Blank white screen using Firefox browser- Using Safari i I get the Audio and a Blank Black screen-- Several months ago I tried to use Flip4Mac and got the same results and just gave up-- I am using a Mac Dual 2 gig toby Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

OucH-- You could try a product called LPS #1 -- LPS is like Magic- I used to use it on my MotoX bikes when they still had point ignition-- one drop of water on the points would kill it-- put LPS#1 on the points I could spray water from a garden hose on the points and the bike would not miss a beat -- it displaces water --jay--by Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

The 2 fonts that are missing are Techno and Textile -- I have looked in Livetype -Motion and in the stock text tool in FCP and fonts folders - All of the other fonts seem to be there -- I looked threw the trash --not there ether - Just Poof gone --Thanks--Jay--by Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA

I keep my tapes in a Good Quality plastic Ice chest-- No ice-- This keeps the tapes at a fairly constant temperature -- Store tapes standing on the ends -- long periods of laying flat can cause the edges of the tapes to curl -- Jay--by Jay Beeson 1 - Café LA
