Click HERE to register now Offline files dialog : don't tell me which files are missing -- make me guess? - 17 years agoOK, a small thing, but easily fixed: I open a project, and the "offline files " alert dialog box shows up. "Some files went offline.", it says -- and shows me the number of files, but not their names. So -- do I want to forget those files? I don't know, I can't see the list unless I choose to reconnect them. So, I choose Reconnect, and now on the Recoonect files diaby Lisa B - FCP Feature Requests Feature Request - Keyframe Pair modifier - 17 years agoAfter a couple of hours setting audio keyframes for level adjustments, I'm here with a feature request: Every time I tweak a level I need to set 4 keyframes, then adjust the level line in the selected area between keyframes 2 and 3. How about a tool (or Pen tool keystroke modifier) that automatically sets a pair of keyframes? That would save me a lot of mousing and clicking.by Lisa B - FCP Feature Requests Re: Final Cut Studio (2009): Link to Tab and Label info in FCP 7 Help - 14 years agoHere's the text quote from the manual page: "When multiple tabs appear in a window, you can reorder them by dragging a tab left or right to a different position in the top of the window. When you hold the pointer over a tab, a tooltip appears showing the location of the tab in the hierarchy of tabs. You can also assign colors to tabs that represent bins and sequences by assigning a coloreby Lisa B - Café LA Re: Final Cut Studio (2009): Frakking Documentation...my 2 cents - 14 years agoI could certainly use a PDF version of the Help. I try to include specific FCP manual cross-references in my book, because I think the FCP manual is generally very good and certainly more detailed than my compact reference guide. To be really useful, we need an official PDF version from Apple or we won't have a standard page count to refer to. I'm still hoping a PDF version of the manual wby Lisa B - Café LA Re: Final Cut Studio (2009): Link to Tab and Label info in FCP 7 Help - 14 years agoby Lisa B - Café LA Re: Anybody out there who can shed some light on this? - 14 years agoI believe the KB documentation is offering the target resolution image size for the preset graphics area of Share export's DVD menus. Shift-Command-dragging restricts the speed adjustment to the left of the speed keyframe you're adjusting. Before export, I had opened and closed a couple of PSD files and a TIF file directly in FCP viewer windows. Big "so what", huh? I selected my sequence and chose Export > Quicktime Movie from the shortcut menu. In the Save dialog box, the Include menu -- which should be displaying Aby Lisa B - The Bug Report Re: OT -- "timecodes"? or "timestamp"? - 16 years agoThanks, Andreas. Life is short and the hours have been long, I guess. "FCP will import a Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) digital audio file and its timestamp?at long last." Not. 8^) Thanks, gentlemen. I have always used singular unless I'm comparing two or more timecodes. The timecodes on the two different tape outputs are consistent. Compares. You need the plural. This year's disputed sentence? "FCP will import Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) digital audio files and their timecode?at long last." This is borderby Lisa B - Café LA OT -- "timecodes"? or "timecode"? - 16 years agoHi all, It's happened many times before -- my annual dispute with a copy editor about my use of the word "timecode" as both the singular and the plural form -- kinda like "deer". In my neighborhood, there are no "deers" -- and no "timecodes". How about it? Do you ever refer to "timecodes" (plural) in your work place? Your reply pretty much sums up my thinking on the topic. Yes, QT has been updated many times since I captured that 2002 footage, but where does the updated QT DV codec come into play? DV capture is said to be a straight digital data transfer; do QT codec refinements apply to legacy files when I play them back in a newer FCP based on the latest QT?by Lisa B - Café LA Any advantage to recapturing older media files? - 17 years agoHi all, I'm finishing up a movie I've been working on for a few years. Some of the media files I'm still working with were captured as far back as 2002. Do you see any image quality or other advantage to recapturing them in the latest version of FCP/QT before I finish the show?
