One problem others were having also was the fit for the lens. The diameter of the rings didn't work well on some lens barrels. At one time there was a source for the backdrop material other than Reflect, and it was much cheaper. though still more expensive than foam backed or lyrca Green/blue screen. I haby lonn bailey - Café LA Re: Motorized Turntable for table top work? - 17 years agoWow those are some requirements. Its needs a computer system of some sort and the motors have to be stepper motors, I haven't seen one, but there might be something like that around. You're looking for motion contol of the turntable. That might be a rare egg. I might call a camera house Pana, or Arri and ask the guys there if they know of any place that might rent something like that.by lonn bailey - Café LA Re: Capture is limted with OS 10.4.7 - 17 years agoAlso I think the default capture is 30 min. You can change it. don't have the program open so I can't give directions. In capture now select scratch disks when it opens it will show what disks have been selected and you can specify in capture settings. down at the bottom is a box with LIMIT TO CAPTURE NOW TO and a place to input you max number of minutesby lonn bailey - Café LA Re: recommendations on a live switching system - 17 years agoLOL, buy a Trinity, cheap on ebay. if you were close to TN I could rent you my expensive boat anchor. you think Matrox screwed you with the RTmac. LOL. Play took people to the cleaners like there was no tomorrow. However as a switcher etc, its not bad. Edit withh the NLE, lol, you will end up pulling out your hair or the client will do it for you.by lonn bailey - Café LA Re: Need help: new macbook or macbook pro choices w/DVCPRO HD? - 17 years agoHmm lots of P2 questions these days. not that this isn't a great site, but this site below is dedicated to the HVX 200 and has great info on this already in a couple of threads. Common topics from Mac users and other info with great info The cineporter is coming soon. Just google cineporter. I read them a few days ago. There is a proper procedure. There are two files for the P2 footage I recall. One of them basically is for knowing that the card switched from one card to another. check it out. good sight if you haven't been there.by lonn bailey - Café LA Re: ?Workflow_4x3DV NTSC to anamorphic DigiBeta - 17 years agoMaybe I'm wrong here, but maybe its a miscommunication. Perhaps what they mean is this. If they have a digital projection system set for 16 x 9 then this is the size of the screen and the lens throw normally. "will default to a 4x3 screen size for letter-boxed programs, but then will expand the projection area for anamorphic widescreen when the DVD player detects the anamorphiby lonn bailey - Café LA Re: OT: s-video or component for projector? - 17 years agoWhen using component, make sure all your cables are the same length for starters. same type length etc. timing will be effected if you use cables of different lengths and types etc. Koz can speak to that better than I can. When you set up your projector, make sure all the cables match, if not this will cause problems. Image retention, fovia. all that stuff. a snip about the artifacts from DLP Rainbow Artifacts For readers unfamiliar with the issue, let's focus a bit on DLP rainbow problems and how these two units compare. First, every single chip DLP projector uses a spinning color wheel with red, green, blue, and sometimes white (clear) segmentsby lonn bailey - Café LA Re: OT: s-video or component for projector? - 17 years agoComparing a high end auditorium display projector to a home projector is apples and oranges. I have a Sanyo PLV Z1, Its not bright, well in the sense you want to have to room full of light and watch a dvd or a HD broadcast. No I have to keep the room semi dark, only 800 lumens. But it has a native 16 x 9 chip its LCD not DLP and it looks great. I have a 8 foot 16 x 9 diagnol screen maxi. I have I-defrag installed on each drive. You can make the clone bootable. I boot to the clone, use I-defrag to defrag my hard drive, You can do it with the OSX disk, but I like having a copy. I defrag is not expensive. If you can't talk and see what your operators are doing you are inviting trouble imo. MiniDV for broadcast. They OKed this. BetacamSP is the standard. If this is an el cheapo show well, then you will work on a show thats really not properly funded. This invites trouble. What kind of show is it. What about the lighting.by lonn bailey - Café LA Re: importing powerpoint - 17 years agoI would also consider redoing the information from the powerpoint slides with a graphics program inside FCP. From my corporate experience many moons ago I fought many battles over presenters putting their speeches on the slides. or they just fill them up with info, put it up for five seconds and move on. When this kind of slide goes to video it might not be very readable. The bullet pointsby lonn bailey - Café LA Re: green screen - 17 years agoPageprod, new, and green sceen. If this is a paying client then I would do this and understand it before you shoot for the client. If its for fun and experience thats differerent. Note that your camera will play a big part in how well the green screen turns out. If you have a single chip consumer camera, you may not get very good results. THree chip camera's for this kind of work.by lonn bailey - Café LA Re: Software tool for drop out - 17 years agoBefore you use words like "jump on the brand"., try asking your question with a little class. It was the tape pure and simple. don't like that, are you a sony rep, Tell Sony. Ask them about their tape smanufacturers, and what their standards are, and let us know. Because I am seeing problems. Thats not good in my book. With the Quantegy (which I bought because it was made in the US, and made in Alabama. I was told that it was made under high quality control by the rep, I questioned them hard). They assured me, This was in Oct Nov. Now I find out that Quantegy is out of business, plant closed in alabama. I bought tby lonn bailey - Café LA Re: Software tool for drop out - 17 years agoBJ, The tape is fixed. And I suggested this to the client and they weren't interested. No offense to the client, but these were some good words from the talent about his starting the company, and they weren't interested. somehow that tells me something, I don't know exactly what, yea I do,. After visiting the site I recalled how it worked. Though I am happy to report that I was able to get a stable excellent picture. Looks like new. When I waited a few seconds and the processing software of the Black Magic decklinksp card took over, it was usable but not perfect. I went in Photo Jpeg. I recall software that I found here that was made to fix light drop out problems etc. Some other tools also. Very reasonable price, like ten or 20 for each tool. I can't find them here, though they used to have an add. Does anyone recall the software I am thinking about and the company name. Its just tby lonn bailey - Café LA |
