well, i have leopard on a clean install on a blank 80gig partition on my mac pro, works nice there I'll tell you what, don't do anything but MAN it can play itunes soo good....oh and surprisingly to all you roto and heavy vfx guys, mocha kicks ass on it, I randomly grabbed it and tried. Still the only application I've seen utilize my computer to that extent. on my laptop I cloned over using suby Aaron Zander - Café LA

I help run a lab at a university, we use a mix (very few) of the dvcams, and a whole ton of the clamshells, they work very well and get more than regular traffic. Both are rock solid, and neither of them are "new" we have a few hdv decks and they are all finicky as hell. but no real problems, just making sure the settings are ok. sony's "video walkman" are solid dv decks no dby Aaron Zander - Café LA

ok, so got an advanced copy of leopard and installed it halfway through this project and now.... ok just kidding. but seriously, just graded a 30 second spot sent it back to FCP (after rendering) and what? my clips are all askew some have the totally wrong ramp speed, and most if not all are off by significant amounts. most kept their speed changes, BUT few kept their in out points. I have only worked with pro max and they were THE fastest company I have ever worked with in this industry or other to get me a 'specialty deal' rate quote. Not to mention, they <3 lafcpug almost as much as I doby Aaron Zander - Café LA

Yea, I just burried them in the following file structure (posted purely for laughs) >gatorade>giant tiffs>burried here>xmarks the spot>try and find me>I will win fcp>shot_1.mov But I did offline every clip multiple times going from pro res, to h.264, back to pro res, did everything concievable. I would like to report this problem as SOLVED!!!!! final cut, has apparantly out witted me not once but about fifteen times x 20 clips. so, I'm retiring my computer, and would like to state "DUDE IM GETTING A DELL" ok, well maybe not heres what happned. ok THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING. sorry don't mean to forum yell, but WOW. Ok, so I have completely stripped the project of any resolution in the sequence settings. Did it help like it Should, no just waisted 10 minutes. I've never had this problem, ever before. Not with dvcpro hd. not with cineon 2k files (off the same drive mind you) nothing. ok, so I am working with gigantic tiff files on my 3.0 quad macpro, 2 gigs of ram (next pay check = more ram) and fcs2, I down resed them to prores. Before the pro res, I couldn't play back very well and assumed it was the size. But now with these MUCH smaller pro res files, playback is just as bad, as in Dropping frames like crazy. ok, Sooo shot High speed footage last night, LARGE dense files. The only time I've ever done any onlining was with synced taped (dvcam and hdcam) and there was just re capturing for the hdcam. But now I have 17 image sequences ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 gigs a piece, and I want to make some offline lo res files. How would I do this 'quickly' and efficiently. hey the mighty mouse is LIGHT YEARS above those old circle mice that used to ship with imacs. I went to a clients home office the other day, working on a (g3?) tower wit one of those old gargantuan imac size monitors on the tripod stands. He had one of those mice, i had to export a media manager file. It was a challenge at the best to use that 'thing'.by Aaron Zander - Café LA

I love my mx revolution, set me back like 75 bucks when they came out, but I've had it for a year, Makes everything a dream. Not much great things can be said about the logitech control center. i can honestly say i work with more off the shelf dirves (or at least see them pass by me) than most, working in a film college digital labs. currently see alot of maxtor drives and seagates around (both the old box and the new sci-fi ones) I've torn apart 5 maxtor drives in the last 2 months. New imac, as in just released (the ones with the 2 tone and horrid 16-bit lcd's?) I run a lab of 32 of the previous gen ones (brand new intels pre 2 tone) and 5.1-1.4 ran great and 6.0 is running smooth as well. Limited ram hurts, but It's great for dvcpro Hd and less projects. I cant see the new ones being any worse other than their lack luster displays. semi side note, I've experienced lesby Aaron Zander - Café LA

Do you have apple care still, If you do and you have a tower, they should (they used too at least) do house calls, this may no longer be the case as they have also dropped the hourly rate of warranty repair (from ~80 to ~20/hour thanks apple)by Aaron Zander - Café LA

Off the top of my head you could toss on 3 way cc and keyframe the highlights/whites and bring them up over a few frames. (or down the other way) Maybe mess with hue/saturation. hope this helpsby Aaron Zander - Café LA

I think my saving grace fro FCP keyboard shortcuts (and your all going to laugh me off the boards) was world of warcraft. I was never that big into using a ton of shortcuts until I played this game. And before I knew it, I was going throug my manuals looking for the shortcuts. Damn video games, messing with my head.
