Thanks for the response Shane-er!by Jay Brown - Café LA Swamp People Trailer...How did they do that? - 13 years agoHey Guys, We're gearing up to shoot a new Show Open for one of out clients and recently ran across a visual effect we'd very much like to consider. I think I'm familiar as to how this is done, but any insight as to how exactly this effect is done would be a huge help. My thought is a bank of DSLR's on a rail system. Has anyone executed an effect like this within FCP or AE? Thanks guys, herby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Importing a targa sequence - 17 years agoYou ARE a Genius Koz! De-Interlace worked to Perfection. -JBby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Importing a targa sequence - 17 years agoAnother quick question...After I exported the Targa files to a DVCPRO50 format, the images are really nice and clean, but during a few shots where there is a lot of full screen movement, there seems to be slight image problems. The image retains the quality, but on the top third and the lower third of the image there is a small bar across each third that almost looks like it is blurred and shakiby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Importing a targa sequence - 17 years agoThank you so much. Much easier than I thought.by Jay Brown - Café LA Importing a targa sequence - 17 years agoHey Kids, Big question: I have a Targa sequence that I need to import into FCP. It's an intro for a Television Show that was created on Avid-based editors by my client. What I have is roughly 1400 individual files in the .tga extension. How can I convert this to an uncompressed quicktime file so I can work on it in FCP? Any info would make me smile. Thanks, Jasonby Jay Brown - Café LA Working with Mutiple formats in one timeline - 17 years agoWe have a Client who is going to be sending us footage in HDV and some in SD. We need to know what is going to be the best way to import the HDV footage? Are we going to need additional hardware or will FCP take care of the HDV? We do have a sony hdv deck coming. Will there be a problem working with both formats in one time line in FCP? if so what is the best compression settings to use to mby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Jagged Edges - 17 years agoBig D, I actually did do that after I had tries a lot of the other techs. It worked perfect...and honestly looks great. Thanks for all the help guys. -Jasonby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Jagged Edges - 17 years agoThe NTSC is where I am getting all of the problems on.by Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Jagged Edges - 17 years agoKoz, It still is really jagged. I put a soft edges filter on the video files and that seemed to help. -Jby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Jagged Edges - 17 years agoKoz, I'm not working w/ graphics here...just raw footage. All I am doing is rotating the image after I re-size it to 70% and rotating it to 10.45. There are step-like jaggies on the edges of the video. Any more suggestions...and nothing changed after I went to 100% on the Canvas. Thanks, Jby Jay Brown - Café LA Jagged Edges - 17 years agoHey Kids, Anyone know a good way to get rid of jagged edges. For example...I have three layers of video w/ a gaussian blur, all different sizes and rotations. The main video clip has a slight rotation to it. When the clips are angled I get all kinds of terrible looking jaggies on the sides of the video clips. If there is a trick it would really help. Thanks, Jasonby Jay Brown - Café LA File Storage Solutions - 17 years agoHey all, Looking for the most efficient way to share video files among multiple computers. I am a bit confused over the cost jumps from 2TB servers and a Raid Array of 2TB. What are the benefits and disadvantages of either of these options? Our goal is to share video files locally in-house between three editors. We would like to be able to work on the same project simultaniously, but theby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Deck Quit Reading Timecode??? - 17 years agoYou're a genious. What exactly could be wrong. I put a tape in and it just has the signal that the tape is playing, but no timecode. I've tried numerous tapes that all have solid timecode layed down and still get nothing. Any info?? The only way I can figure to do it is to go back and re-cut the montage without the audio channels being locked. THANKS!by Jay Brown - Café LA Colour Correction Issue - 18 years agoHey guys, I had this real wierd timeline issue last week where I was getting dropped frames everytime I played a clip dirrectly from my timeline. Well, I have it narrowed down to one thing...the Color Correction Filter. On every other video filter I have used I have no problem playing the rendered clip from my timeline, no dropped frames. Now, when I add the CC filter I get the green lineby Jay Brown - Café LA Re: Wierd Issues w/ my Timeline - 18 years agoDerek, I am watching on an external monitor. I turned off drop frames and all that did was set my audio and video off sync. I really don't know why my new set-up is failing. It is the same set-up I have w/ my G4, same software...everything. It isn't a drive issue because I have 467 GB left on the 500 GB drive, where all the footage is coming from. I added a Colour Correction to the clip and it still didn't need rendered, but did anyway and it still is dropping frames. The footage is in the internal 500GB drive, which is formatted OS Extended. The footage plays fine until I put a filter on it...then it drops frames all over. I'm wondering if it's a rendby Jay Brown - Café LA |
