Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy this? Thanks in advance for any advice, Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA Automatic Duck - Pro Tools to FCP conversion - 17 years agoHi There, Do you have the Automatic Duck Pro Tools to FCP conversion software? I have to do a one-time conversion, and would pay to have that conversion done. Please let me know. Thanks! Havaby Hava Volterra - lafcpug Market Importing from Pro Tools to FCP - 17 years agoHi There, I need to import my sound track from Pro Tools back into FCP. I've been told that can be done with Automatic Duck, but the price I found was $495. Is there another, lower cost way for me to do it? Thanks in advance, Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA Re: FCP quits whenever I try to save project - 17 years agoSo here's the tricky question - How do I know what's the problem with my project? It looks fine and plays fine until I try to save it. Do you have any suggestions on how I could figure this out? Thanks again! Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA Re: FCP quits whenever I try to save project - 17 years agoI just tried, as a test, to open and Save As a previous version of the project, and that worked. Which seems to indicate to me that my problem is some sort of corruption of the last version of the project (Hopefully that's all it is...), and not an overall system problem. Still, I'm thinking of upgrading because I've been having so many problems, often revolving around saving of the project filby Hava Volterra - Café LA Re: FCP quits whenever I try to save project - 17 years agoThanks. I tried all the suggestions on the page you referenced, and I was hopeful, but it didn't solve the problem. I'm thinking that perhaps I should upgrade to the new version 5.1, and that may solve the problem. DOes that sound plausible? Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA Re: FCP quits whenever I try to save project - 17 years agoHi Koz, I have five drives connected, all have at least 10% free space. I'm not using any punctuation marks in file name. I'm not clear on what you mean by Repair Permissions, Disk First Aid, and Trash Final Cut Preferences. Are these FCP settings? When you say to disconnect everything, I assume you mean the hard drives and the internet connection. Who would I go to for servicing? I now find that I'm unable to save the project. Even if I just open a previously saved project and try to save it without making any changes, I get a message that "The Application Final Cut Pro has unexpectedly quit". There is sufficient disk space. What would suggest as the best way to do that? Thanks in advance, Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA Making a smaller Quicktime movie - 17 years agoHi, I'm need to output my film as a video Quicktime for purposes of soundmix. Normally the Quicktime output is about 22GB, and the audio house wants it to be about 5G. What settings should I set when doing the Quicktime output to reach the 5G size? Thanks in advance, Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA Output to OMF - File too large - 17 years agoHi there, I'm trying to output the audio my film (87 minute run length) to an OMF file, and I'm getting an error message saying that the file size is too large, and max is 2G. I'm running FCP 4.5HD. Do you know how I can solve this? Thanks in advance! Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA FCP crashing during autosave - 17 years agoHi there, We're editing a feature length film with quite a bit of graphics and animation. There's a very large amount of PSD files layered with moving objects. We're working on a dual processor 1.6G G5 system with 2GB of RAM. Lately the system has been crashing at least once a day, usually during autosave (we find that the last autosave file is empty). Usually it says: FCP has unexpecteby Hava Volterra - Café LA Spinning down LaCie Disks - 18 years agoHi there, We're editing with FCP on a MAC G5 with five external 500GB Lacie drives. The drives spin down if we haven't accessed them in the past 10 or 20 minutes. My question: is there a way to prevent them from spinning down? That would save us time and aggravation. Thank in advance! Havaby Hava Volterra - Café LA |
