final cut pro 5 won't open anymore - 14 years ago
A sudden power failure occured in my flat, and my hard drive was connected to a power outlet while I was working on a project. I decided to quit the programm and to open it again but it sais something like no link image disk found or and won't open anymore. I tried to erase the program from the applications file then to re-install it. same issue... anything I can do? I'm supposed to finnish a proby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

what I mean by not working is that I have to render the files when I put them on the timeline. Streamclip doesn't seem to include the prores setting. I tried AIC and it won't work either, although the rendering is much faster...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

hello, a couple of months ago I told you about issues I had with some footage shot with the digital still camera nikon d90 (.avi hd 720p). Everytime i put the clips on my timeline (fcp version 5), I had to render them for hours. Recently I got the mpeg streamclip software that is pretty easy to use. hey, I'm about to edit HD footage from my nikon d90 for the first time but I don't know what video settings to choose. maybe my version is too old (FCP 5) because the closest format I see is HDV 720p. thanx for your helpby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA
can't open fcp 5.1.4 project with 5.0 - 16 years ago
my DP color corrected a project on his 5.1.4 version of final cut pro. I tried to open the fcp file on my computer with fcp 5.0 but i get "general error". do I have to get 5.1.4 to open the file or an update to 5.1 will do? thanxby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

I erased some soundtracks so now i only got the videotracks. is there a way to get the sound tracks automatically without having to re-edit? i dunno if i made myself clear on this.. thanksby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA
macbook pro with final cut hd? - 17 years ago
right now i own a 800mhz powemac g4 (1,2GB) and it's getting old as hell especially in terms of intensive colour correction. at first i was considering getting a quad g5 but i heard these new macbook pro can run pretty fast too. how does they really compare to g5's and can they handle hdv properly. it might turn out i travel a bit this year but if these laptops can't handle colour correction andby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

it's a music video a friend of mine started on avid xpress. he exported it as OMF files and burned THEM on 2 dvd's. how do i open these files from FCP(hd)? peaceby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

ok i repaired the authorizations now i can burn normally. the issue now is that the dvd i burned with idvd is kinda messed up: sometimes it bugs, sometimes the sound is not synchronized. the original video is like 5gb so it got compressed automatically. in the preferences i chose optimal performances and i didn't check activate encoding in the background, i dunno if it's related...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

i even tried to burn a couple of pics via the finder, it doesn't work either... are you guys sure it's not burner related? yeah i should have written down the messages...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

for idvd the message was a multiplexing error and for toast it was a medium error or something. i couldn't even burns photos on a cd with disk utility...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

since yesterday impossible to burn anything wether it's with toast or idvd and even with disk utility. error messages all the time. i'm thinking of updating with the 1.22 firmware...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

dv format yeah. i tried to switch another font. no i'm not watching on an external monitor, but i exported the vid as a quicktime movie, same result...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

the text in my ending credits (white font on black background) is kinda blur. i had the same problem a while ago with very small font but i could fix it by making it a little bigger. but this time it doen't work, no matter what the size is, it's blur. any suggestions?by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA
burning a 5,6gb vid on a 4,7 dvd - 18 years ago
here's the deal i need to burn a 25 minute video(5,6 gb) on a dvd (4,7 gb). it's a final cut pro file that i tried to compress while exporting it as a quicktime movie, but it's too randomy. i make the setting, sit and wait and in the end the file is still too big. toast can compress automatically but it takes forever and it frequently fails. compressor is way too complicated to me. there's must bby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

i forgot to mention... before all these troubles started i was handling about the power adaptater wire because of a bad contact(while the capture window was opened), si it kinda turned on and turned off while i was trying to find the right position to get a good contact(which was kinda reckless). i really suspect this to be related now that i've tried almost everything...by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

i've had this combo for 7 months and until that trouble it worked just fine. i just imported clips from imovie in fce and they bug like CRAZY(not in imovie in fce only) What the ****?by digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

i've been trying to capture footage via a sony trv 900 camera(final cut express) and here 's the message i get: "an error occured while configuring quicktime using the current capture preset. please quit final cut express and check your hardware configuration" no later than 3 days ago i was still capturing with that deck and it worked well. i tried almost everything, trashed the final cby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA

what do u mean by reboot? restart or these are two different things. are you actuammy talking about re-installing mac OS. wouldn't trash quicktime and re-install it do? thanxby digitalfilmmaker - Café LA
