You can export a DVD or digital file only.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA - X Multicam Audio Changes - 9 years agoI just finished editing an hour-long multi cam video of a concert in which I only used the two channel audio from camera one (dual mono audio). I realized after I finished the multi cam edit that I wanted to lower the audio on channel 1 down by 10db. If I go to "expand audio and video" I can do it but I'd have to go shot by shot by shot by shot... Is there a way to do it for the entireby Tim Stansbury - Café LA - X Re: multicam not working - 9 years agoOne thought... in the inspector window for each clip under the "info" tab, make sure you designate a different camera number for each clip in either the angle or description.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA - X Re: Separate audio channels? - 9 years agoIn the inspector under the audio tab is an option to change the audio from stereo to dual mono. Then highlight your clip and under "Clip" (at the top of the screen) choose "expand audio components". You can now adjust separate audio tracks. Option + left mouse click will allow you to add keyframes for adjusting.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA - X Re: Way OT: Lines or pixels moving through video image - 14 years agoYes, looks just like that! It's in the raw footage so has nothing to do with FCP settings. I don't remember anything unusual about the cameras settings - other than I was in auto preset white balance. FCP settings match what I was shooting, NTSC 29.97 standard DV.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA Way OT: Lines or pixels moving through video image - 14 years agoThis is way off topic as it not a problem created by FCP. More of a camera engineer question. I have a JVC GY DV5000 that I recently used for a video shoot. The video images often have moving lines somewhere within the shot, or in some cases lots of moving dots. Seems to be in darker areas of the picture. Has anyone seen this before or know what it is caused by? I have 6 tracks of audio in my FCP project and want to take one track and do some noise reduction work on it. It is not a continuous track but has a number of breaks on it but I would want the same noise reduction on the entire track. Would definitely lose the render files every time I closed FCP and sometimes just randomly while I was working on the timeline.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA Re: On capture Video sticks! - 16 years agoWhat version of FCP and Quicktime do you have? A friend of mine had FCP 4.5 and had this exact problem once he upgraded his Quicktime beyond version 7.2. Had to upgrade his FCP or go back to Quicktime 7.2 to get capture to work properly again.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA Re: Smoothcam issue - 16 years agoThis happens to me also. Highlight a clip in the browser then under "Edit" click "Item Properties" and then "format" and then assign it a number or letter ( ie - 1, 2 or A, B). Do this for each clip. Then highlight them both in your browser then go to "Modify" and cby Tim Stansbury - Café LA Sennheiser ew100 G2 wireless handheld mic and receiver - 16 years agoNever used on a production but tested to see if it works; like new. Once she removed it and went back to 10.4.8 everything worked fine.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA Re: Clip Within Multiclip Loses Audio Sync - 16 years agoMy first thought would be that the one clip had a timecode break or the camera quit recording momentarily to cause the loss of sync. Regardless, you will have to find an edit point right before the spot where you lose sync and create a new multiclip with your sync point for all clips at that edit point. Since you already assigned angles to the clips you won't have to do that step. Then just overwby Tim Stansbury - Café LA Re: Multiclip Oddities - 17 years agoDo you just see one angle in the viewer when you are playing your timeline but see all the angles when you stop? I believe this is what happens once you render the multiclip sequence. If this is your problem you need to "un-render" then you should see all angles again.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA Re: Make dv look more like svhs - 17 years ago(head slap) DOH! Sometimes I miss the obvious.by Tim Stansbury - Café LA Make dv look more like svhs - 17 years agoI was given a 7 year old training video that was originally shot and edited in svhs and was asked to replace a three second shot with a new image which was shot on mini dv. For various reasons they do not want the whole thing reshot. What are some thoughts on how to make the mini dv shot blend in better? The mini dv looks much more crisp and is too jarring. It seems like it should be easy - so easy I can't even find anything in the manual. I'm not sure how to do it. Under "Clip" there is a menu item "speed" but the submenu is grayed out.
