The only limitations of any iMac are the limited amount of cores in their processors but if you dont use H264 or AVCHD Blu-Ray with Apple Compressor with Quickclusters iMac are the best deal. Even going from dual 4 cores in Mac Pro 2009 to dual 6 cores in Mac Pro 2012 will reduce the time it take to do compression for Blu-Ray but very few do Blu-Ray creation around me (dvd and web only). The dilema of internal versus external new way for upgrade of not only Apple but others computers makers put me thinking. Do i want the fastest computer or the conveniance of be able to put everything inside a tower even if that mean a little slower. Probably a silly question but i sure there is plus and minus ... old tower is all in one and new tower need external hd and burners.

I just check the playback again : It take 8 seconds to play 40 seconds so clip play at X5 Speeds. Trash the application and re-install it change nothing , XDCAM EX Clip browser 2.6 dont have this bug. The lack of reply surprize me .... or i am alone with this bug ... if not is this a bug ... any help please guys.

Yesterday i found the new version of XDCAM Browser version 1.1 was available from Sony UK. Downloaded and installed and try-it again : the Playback button still not work but J-K-L Work. Also the playback function using the menu option on the menu bar is working well as before. Sorry to be late to reply to you guys , I use Final Cut Studio 3 , Compressor and Matrox Compress HD but i forget to mention i also use the 60 Templates from Kevin Monahan. No coaster or playback problem yet , my clients want the HD at moderate cost with chapters markers as breakpoint to access specific point to display their products. Toast 10 is valid for Blu-Ray using Matrox Compress HD

Yes i do Blu-Ray for about two year but now with Final Cut Studio 3 and Matrox Compress HD with drivers 2.0 i cant do Blu-Ray in H264 in real time with Chapters Markers and no coaster yet. Since i do my shooting on Sony XDCAM EX at 35Mbs i use Blu-Ray BD-R 25 GB who cost about $4 each and using memory card SxS 16 GB , this fit very well my workflow. Matrox get new drivers for the compress hd card today after a wait of about 4 month and i must tell you the chapters markers bug still there. The card still work very fast creating H264 files for the Web or Blu-Bray but dont count on creating Blu-Ray disc with chapters markers for the moment. Just hope the Matrox RTMAC debacle will not get repeat but this time even PC users get the problem

Craig i agree with you 100 % but i cant offer more support at the moment , my contact at Sony Support must follow no posting in any blogs or forums Sony rigid policy. The Sony websites where supposed to be updated to warn peoples agains upgrading right now but as you see have not be done yet and that no too professional from Sony.
