I don't have the latest FCP ( one previous) so I couldn't use ProRes. I guess i'll need to upgrade. I converted to HDV 60i to match the footage from the Canon HV-30 I was intercutting with, and it worked fine. The 5DII seems to be 1080P and looked much better than the HDV, when I was able to get things in focus :-)by hermosawave - Café LA Re: Canon 5D MkII h.264 HD video for FCP: best Sequence Preset? - 15 years agoThanks Michael: I found the tutorial here:by hermosawave - Café LA Canon 5D MkII h.264 HD video for FCP: best Sequence Preset? - 15 years agoI'm the web host for lafcpug, but I'm also a photographer. And my new Christmas toy of a Canon 5D MkII digital SLR has already turned into a video gig... I've imported some of my footage into FCP but I immediately see that all of it needs rendering on the timeline. I'm using the HDV 1080i60 sequence preset, but I'm wondering if there is a more efficient preset to use. According to the manual tby hermosawave - Café LA Re: Got Leopard? Post your problems/joys/thoughts here - 16 years agoWell, I don't use any fancy video hardware, but for me Leopard (the desktop version) has been a delight, running on both MacPro and PB G4. FCP/Aperture/CS3, that's pretty much all the big apps I use. I have had some significant problems with the Leopard Server - that's what lafcpug.org is running on: - The upgrade from Apache 1.3 to Apache 2 causes many issues, not so much with the web sitesby hermosawave - Café LA Re: LAFCPUG.ORG Moving to a new server - 16 years agoHi All: Fixed a server email config issue (new server and the default settings were getting all the emails bounced). Emails should be working now. I'll have to remember that :-) Koz, seems like most people have been on the new box all day, and it's not even breaking a sweat... I'm happy. This server ought to be four times faster than the single G5 Xserve the site is currently running on, so searching the forum ought to be much faster. HOWEVER it takes some time for everyone to get on the new site, so if you post on the old site your post might disapby hermosawave - Café LA Digicam Video in FCP? - 17 years agoI recently purchased a Canon Powershot A640 digital camera and realized that it shoots really good video, seemly comparable with a single chip miniDV camera (640x480 x 30fps). My question is this, what it the best way to work with this video material in FCP? Anyone using digicam video? Any insights? I've noticed that FCP is much faster when working in DV than in JPEG, so I thought I woby hermosawave - Café LA Re: South Bay video rental houses? - 18 years agoFirst one off the top of my head is Samy's Venice.
