NOT SEEING CANON HV20 - 12 years ago
My G-5, OS 10.5.8, FCP 6.0.6, can not see the canon HV20. I am connected out through Cannon HDV/DV out and go into a 400 connection in back of the Mac. The computer does not see the camera. Took it to Burbank Mac. They saw the camera on their FCP 7 system using the 400 connection. I check to make sure I took test footage in HD. I check to make sure the output was HD. CANNOT SEE XDCAM TRANSFER WITH QT - 14 years ago
I am trying to look at footage logged onto a hard drive from a SONY XDCAM. I down loaded the XDCAM drive. It said you need FCP 6.0.1 to work with the media. According to the people who loaded the material onto the hard drive, they say they can see it by using Quick Time Video. Do I need FCP 6.0.1 to see the video through Quick Time? Is there something I need to do in order to see it throuby ermannovanino - Café LA

I am trying to see footage that was captured on a hard drive from a Sony XD CAM EX camera. I am working on a G-5, FCP 5.4.1, Quick Time 7.5.5. The HDCAM codec is (Codec XD CAm EX 1080i60 (35 Mb/s VBR) integer (Big Endian) Time code). I tried using perian. No luck. I tried searching for the codec, no luck. I can hear the audio, but no picture. Any suggestions? thank you. Ermannoby ermannovanino - Café LA

Josh I think it is a problem with the preference settings. I trashed to old ones and it seams to be working. However, the other day I got it to work. Turned off the computer. Went away for a few hours, came back, turned it on and it was out of sync again. I played with the prefrence settings again and got it to work. I am working on a G-5. 2.5g memory. I was working in 4.5 and 5.0. We upgraded to 5.1 and the video is now is out of sync. I played with the audo settings and I got it to work. I turn off the machine. Turned it back on an hour later and it went out of sync again.by ermannovanino - Café LA
