On 95% of my clips, the FCP built in conversion looks just fine. Even if I watch it on a TV monitor through my camera, even when if I output to DVD or mini-DV tape, and watch that on a TV monitor. No "stuttering" which is the most common complaint I read about FCP Pal-NTSC conversion. 1) So WHY is it that I wouldby chokecherry - Café LA Re: Sony DSC 1024 scan converter for PAL to NTSC conversion - 17 years agoThanks for trying, but these replies haven't addressed my concerns, so I will rephrase it: Does anyone know of a rentable or buyable hardware PAL to NTSC standards converter for mini-DV tapes that will be broadcast quality? I have too many tapes to make going to a transfer house viable. There are a few converters under $400 out there, the CDM 830 T, the ATLONA SB3690, and a few others, but I don'by chokecherry - Café LA Sony DSC 1024 scan converter for PAL to NTSC conversion - 17 years agoHas anyone used the Sony DSC 1024 scan converter to conver PAL mini-DV tapes to NTSC mini-DV tapes? How did the quality compare to say an expensive Alchemist conversion, or a software conversion? I have about 40 mini-DV pal tapes I want to convert to NTSC BEFORE editing in FCP. I also have the same amount of NTSC mini-DV tapes, all of which are to be edited into the same sequence, and the renderby chokecherry - Café LA Re: NTSC to PAL conversion - 17 years agoThanks. Got Nattress. Tried it out. It works, but I'm disappointed I can only convert clips once they're in the sequence. This is so SLOW! also, what if later want to extend a partial clip in the timeline? Is there any way I can convert the entire clips so they are permanently converted in the browser? (short of going to a transfer house and paying $80 bucks a tape for the 100 source tapes I'mby chokecherry - Café LA NTSC to PAL conversion - 17 years agoI am editing both NTSC and PAL into the same NTSC sequence. (it?s about 50% each format) I?ve been advised to convert all the clips to one standard BEFORE dropping them Into the timeline. How do I do the conversion? Of which about 1/2 the footage is PAL, 1/2 NTSC, 1/2 16:9, 1/2 4:3. I was editing into a Pal 4:3 sequence, which of course required a lot of conversion rendering. the project is getting huge, I have 3 Lacie 250 GB hard drives pretty full, though I leave a lot of extra space in them. Everything was fine, but suddenly, any time I did an insert edit, closed a gap,or anyby chokecherry - Café LA |
