Bye, Danielby Daniel B. - Café LA Increasing All Volume Levels - 12 years agoHi Everybody! I know the answer to this is probably simple, yet I couldn't find a site to describe it. We're using FCP 7, and we need to increase the volume on all audio tracks. That's it! As a secondary question, which I've actually asked before, but I need to get confirmation, what should the VU meter be averaging at? Is the VU meter measuring decibels? Thank you all so very much! Bye,by Daniel B. - Café LA Output Volume Setting - 12 years agoHello, I'm using FCP 7. I'm now adjusting the audio levels for each shot. By what standard should I set the speaker volume so that when I adjust the audio track volume, it will be within a comfortable range? Thank you all for your help! Bye, Daniel B.by Daniel B. - Café LA Re: Wall Photo Replacement - 12 years agoHi Everybody! I hope this goes to all who gave me great suggestions on how to resolve the Wall Photo Replacement issue. My cousin, who's the director and producer of the project informed me that she did have someone try the Motion program but it didn't work out. Exactly how proficient the person was with Motion, I don't know. Although I've not done any vfx, I don't see how this could be such a diby Daniel B. - Café LA Wall Photo Replacement - 12 years agoLast August, we shot an hd short at a dental office (after hours). We were assured we had clearance to use the smiling poster-size photos of the models who represent good teeth. Turns out we didn't have clearance...oops! Besides the $1000 After Effects program, is there another far less expensive program we can use on a FCP 7 to replace the photos--oh, in many of the shots the actors pass by theby Daniel B. - Café LA EXR file transfer - 12 years agoHello, How would I take clips from a project in a MAC using FCP 7 and using EXR (whatever that is) to transfer that clip to a PC for effects work--or it needs to be put into an EXR format for the PC. There's a good chance I've phrased my question incorrectly, apologies, if I did.by Daniel B. - Café LA Power Mac G4--Replacing Hard Drive - 15 years agoHello, I have a 2000 Power Mac G4 model #M5183. I've been using (prepare to laugh) FCP2 (go ahead and laugh!). I overloaded the secondary drive (for media only) and now I want to replace this drive instead deleting the footage on it. So I went to my local Best Buy and after talking to a salesman, I bought a Western Digital SATA 300MB/s, 500GB/Go, WD Caviar SE16, 16MB Cache, running at 7200RPM.by Daniel B. - Café LA Re: Scratch Drive Replacement - 18 years agoThank you for everyone's response. Being that I'm mostly computer illiterate, I don't know what you mean by "drivers mounted natively". But what I do understand is that I can't put in a new drive that's higher than 128gigs unless I get the PCI card. What drive speed should I be looking for? I had once got an external drive but it turned out that it was too slow to hold media.by Daniel B. - Café LA Scratch Drive Replacement - 18 years agoAwhile ago I wrote that I had overloaded the dedicated drive in my computer rendering the drive inopporative. I want to put a new internal drive in it now and deal with the media on the old drive at a later time. Will the new drive be a simple "plug and play" or will I have to do some sort of partitioning which I don't know what that means or how to do it. I'm using an G4-OS9 with the vby Daniel B. - Café LA Wrong Machine? - 18 years agoI have a friend who's using a Power Mac with the following stats: MAC OS X - Version 10.4.8; Processor - 867 MHz Power PC G4; 2 MB L3 Cache; Memory - 1.5 GB SDRAM; Final Cut Pro - Version 5.0.4 Upon playing back the unedited clips, it kind of skips, but the sound is untouched. We were succesfully editing and playing back without problems for awhile then we started getting Drop Frame warnings.by Daniel B. - Café LA Re: Crashed Drive? - 18 years agoThanks to everyone for responding to my crisis. Two responses used the letters BTW. What does this mean? Can I just pull out the bad drive and put in a new one? If so, is there something I'd need to do to make it work? Or is it "Plug and Play"? Which drive manufacturer is recommended?by Daniel B. - Café LA Crashed Drive? - 18 years agoGo ahead and laugh, I'm still using a FCP 2--I got it and the computer for free! It's on a Power Mac G4 using OS9. It has a dedicated 60 gig hard drive which I've been using and re-using for short projects. I had just about filled the drive when the red capacity line came on. So I stopped and began to trim or delete the clips I didn't need, when suddenly, I hear some clicking and whirling, thenby Daniel B. - Café LA |
