I created the show from the footage also as 720x486. For archival purposes, i compressed the footage as a duplicate as 720x486, H.264. When I looked at the resulting image in quicktime, it looked a little streched width-wise. I loooked at the movie info in quicktime, and it said 720x486 bby reliant2000 - Café LA compressing quicktimes - 17 years agoHi all- I have 8 bit uncompressed quicktimes I need to compress into DVC Pro 50 , maintaining as high quality as possible. Any suggestions as to the best way to do this? Initial efforts were less than satisfying, so i must be doing something wrong. Thanks!by reliant2000 - Café LA FCP jagged edges - 17 years agoHi everyone-- I am sure this is a common issue, but don't know what, if any, solution there is. Using FCP 5.1, whenever I rotate, or set at an angle, a video image, the edges are jagged, even if I set the rotation setting to an even number. Now I know on the LC screen it will always look less than perfect, but even in a high quality quicktime to DVD it looks that way. Any ideas for a fiby reliant2000 - Café LA quicktime conversion to wmv - 17 years agoHey all- Everytime I am trying to convert to .wmv format in Quicktime conversion on FCP 5.1.2 (on a 30 sec spot) the final result is only about the first 16 seconds of the sequence in the created wmv file. I have tried creating a new sequence, a new project, and even re-importing a QT into a new project to lose any settings I might have inadvrtently created. I have adjusted the in/out points,by reliant2000 - Café LA Re: Quicktimes versions from FCP 5.1 - 17 years agoThanks for the reply. I did do size at smallest but also at 30 fps and got 21 MB. But the issue has been that I seemed to have needed to do it as a more universal file type. Thanks.by reliant2000 - Café LA Re: Quicktimes versions from FCP 5.1 - 17 years agoThanks! OK--The problem is--- I have tried using H.264, Sorensen, and MPEG 1 (for Quicktime 6 for download), and PhotoJPEG---all as low res, where possible. Got sizes from 115MB to 230 MB or so Unfortunately, they never got near the 21 MB size that I had wth the H.264. Sadly the H.264 is not widely compatable enough. I've used the Quicktime Conversion and also Compressor (that's where I goby reliant2000 - Café LA Quicktimes versions from FCP 5.1 - 17 years agoHey all- I need to make Quicktime conversion from FCP 5.1. However when I made one- (I had to use broadband low or dial up for a low res for uploading as a sample for content) several people who apparently had older versions of Quicktime were not able to open the file. Any suggestions on how to modify the settings so older versions of Quicktime can open the Quicktime file? Thanks!by reliant2000 - Café LA Re: Betacam Sp catpure in Final Cut 5.1.2 too grainy - 17 years agoThanks for reply. Yes we are looking at FCP putput ins ame monitor as Betacam SP output (as S Video) Betacam SP source looks far better than what we are seeing. We'll work on whether we can pop a still up or not--need to check with client. Thanks again.by reliant2000 - Café LA Re: Betacam Sp catpure in Final Cut 5.1.2 too grainy - 17 years agoThanks so much to those for taking the time to reply. We have made sure the footage is high quality. We have a brand new capture card DeckLink Extreme from Blackmagic, and the cables that come with them, so I think they fit the bill. We are going into a G5 MAC with 2.5 dual processor , and can capture fine, except for one problem. The problem is that the image we capture toby reliant2000 - Café LA Betacam Sp catpure in Final Cut 5.1.2 too grainy - 17 years agoHey anyone have an idea why this might be? I am capturing from Betacam SP using Betacam 1800 UVW, and a Blackmagic Design DecklLinK Extreme card, into Final Cut Pro 5.1.2, capturing on a G5, and then editing on a MacBook pro (newest version). We have the setting on DVC Pro 50. The footage is truning out substantially more grainy than the source, and we cannot see why this is happening. Aby reliant2000 - Café LA |
