Click HERE to register now Need recommendation for media store in SFV - 17 years agoHi all, Now that Project One A/V has closed its doors in Burbank, I'm at a loss for a good (and reasonably priced) retail shop in the San Fernando Valley to buy blank DVCAM tapes. Any suggestions? Thanks - Justinby jekagan - Café LA Re: Exporting 16:9 after applying widescreen matte - 17 years agoOK, now I am feeling stupid. Don't know why I overlooked this before, but Compressor allows you to crop your image. I simply opened my Quicktime file in Compressor, cropped it, and set a flag so the resulting output file would be tagged as 16:9. Piece of cake. Derek, FYI, your suggestion does work, with one caveat -- by default FCP resizes the video when you put it on the new timeline,by jekagan - Café LA Exporting 16:9 after applying widescreen matte - 17 years agoHey all, Quick question: What's the easiest way to CROP (not matte) a sequence or Quicktime file after it has been exported? I've just painstakingly applied a 1.78 (16:9) matte to my film and I want to get rid of the black bars in the exported video, resulting in a resolution of 720 x 405, I believe (e.g. just the actual frame). Is there any way to do this? My reasoning is that it's wastby jekagan - Café LA RT Playback Video Quality bug when "Dynamic" on 23.98 timeline - 17 years agoHey all, Here's a weird glitch I've run into, and I am wondering if anybody else out there is able to reproduce this. I have FCP 5.1 set up to playback NTSC DV out the Firewire port to a hardware decoder. I have no problems whatsoever when playing back on a 29.97 timeline. However, things get a bit goofy when I play back on a 23.98 (e.g. 24P NTSC) timeline. Hard disk manufacturers list the capacity as BILLIONS of bytes (e.g. 250,000,000,000 is 250GB). By using a power of ten, it makes the drives seem bigger. However, most computers calculate kilobytes as 1024 bytes, since it's a multiple of 2 (2 ^ 10) which is convenient for binary math, and gigabytes are a multiple of this number. Therefore, 1024 x 1024 x 1024 = 1,073,741,824. 25by jekagan - Café LA OMF Export with Volume Changes - 17 years agoHi all, Just out of curiosity, does anybody know if FCP 5.1.2 supports exporting volume & fade information in OMF files yet? The last time I tried to do this was with FCP 4.1 and I know Apple had not implemented that feature (despite everybody begging for it). Did they get around to doing this yet, or do I still need to go out and buy Automatic Duck? Cheers, Justinby jekagan - Café LA Moving 29.97 sequences to 23.98? - 17 years agoHey all, I just recently converted and deinterlaced a large batch of NTSC 29.97 footage to 23.98 using DVFilm. Relinking the clips within FCP is proving to be a bit of a nightmare. The biggest problem I have is when I copy the contents of a 29.97 sequence and paste it onto a new 23.98 sequence. I am able to link to the new clips, and they play properly, but all the audio and video fades tby jekagan - Café LA |
