The video clips end with ".MTS" extension. I get error message: "could not be opened". And also gives you the option of "what program do I open it with?". I've tried quicktime and also final cut pro. Neither of those worked. FCP said "file error, wrong type".by cressy - Café LA Canon Vixia HF M500 AVCHD footage to final cut pro 7 - 11 years agoHello. It still powered up and after communicating the symptoms with LaCie company, they said "the symptoms show a corruption of the data on the drive". And that I would need to do data recovery, then reformat my LaCie and start over. The right side shift button works just fine. Is this normal? Is there a way I can turn off this annoying left-shift issue? thanks in advance cressyby cressy - Café LA Re: how to tell FCP that my footage was recorded using 12-bit audio? - 13 years agothanks for the comment Andrew.........yes, I did squeeze a lot of value out of the FCP v.2! The old mac finally just stopped booting one day a couple months ago. I was really pleasantly surprised that I only had to pay the $299 FCP upgrade price going from version 2.0 to 7.0 instead of the full $1,000! $700 difference is nothing to sneeze at.....might be time to upgrade to a HD camera and reby cressy - Café LA Re: how to tell FCP that my footage was recorded using 12-bit audio? - 13 years agothanks Jude! Is that normal in this situation?by cressy - Café LA how to tell FCP that my footage was recorded using 12-bit audio? - 13 years agoHow do I adjust FCP v.7 to log and capture 12 bit audio? Apparently I shot most of my footage on a Sony VX2000 using 12 bit instead of 16 audio and I get the error message that my video and audio will be out of sync during the batch capture process. And yes indeed, the video and audio are NOT in sync. help!by cressy - Café LA Re: G4 mac switched to OS10, so I cannot use FCP 2.0 anymore. How do I switch back to classic? - 17 years agoSUCCESS!! I did a re-install of OS 9.2.1 with the original disk.........then did a re-install of quicktime.......then did a re-install of final cut pro 2.0.......and I'm back in business! All my saved video projects were lost in the process, but I had already dumped them to tape anyway......I'm good to go. Thanks for all the great input in this thread. How do I switch back to classic? - 17 years agoHi Scott. I just tried those steps you suggested: 1. blue Apple menu 2. select "startup disk" and from there it only shows operating system 10.0.4. No sign of classic But If I click on the blue apple menu, there is an icon for 9.0 (classic), but when I click on that it says "there is not a valid system software to start classic". Any suggestions?by cressy - Café LA G4 mac switched to OS10, so I cannot use FCP 2.0 anymore. How do I switch back to classic? - 17 years agoI have a G4 Mac and have been happily editing video for about 5 years using final cut pro 2.0 that operates on OS 9 (classic). Then without any prompting, my computer switched over to OS 10 when I turned it on the other day, and it won't let me switch back to OS9, thus I can't get access to final cut pro 2.0.
