Also would be nice to be able to assign channels for output so can choose to do audio only insert to tape, etcby ronsuss - FCP Feature Requests TC Window for Capture & Layoff - 17 years agoI would love to be able to see the time code on the deck as I am bringing in and out material. Also the timecode windows in the capture tool need to be bigger.by ronsuss - FCP Feature Requests Re: OT - clients just think its THIS simple... - 15 years agohad a client tell me recently that "they were not allowed to download quicktime" by the IT department at their company, but complained endlessly about the poor quality of AVI which is the only video format they can access.by ronsuss - Café LA any place to rent color control panel - 15 years agolooking to rent a control surface for Color, either JL Cooper or Tangent. Any places in LA renting them?by ronsuss - Café LA render-error: out of memory - 15 years agoI have been getting the following error message while trying to render - Error: Out of Memory. The system I am working on has 10 gigs of RAM and is connected to a SAN with a whole lots of storage. The error message doesn't appear until almost the end of a render, which is of itself very annoying. Anyone know why this is happening? If I restart the application I am OK for a while then it happensby ronsuss - Café LA retiming? - 16 years agoDoes anyone understand how the curve is represented in retiming. In Avid the curve is represented in percentages, so if I want to slow down to 50% and then speed up to 300% you move you curve to those percentage points. In Motion the curve doesn't represent percentages, I am not sure exactly what it represents and I find it very confusing to ramp clips. Can anyone share some insight and experienby ronsuss - Motion Re: Microphone connection - 16 years agoyou need a audio interface or a usb mic like the Blue "Snowball". plug it in and goby ronsuss - Café LA Strange random pixel on output - 16 years agoI recently output some spots to tape and noticed that I had a random bad pixel. It would show up in different places on a few scenes. The weird thing is it was not visible on the computer monitor of FCP - only on my broadcast monitor. I was able to add a patch and made it go away but it is strange that it was not visible in FCP. Any ideas or suggestions for this?by ronsuss - Café LA retiming - 16 years agocan someone please explain motion ( and FCPs ) retiming to me. the graph makes no sense at all. Coming from Avid, I miss the simple "motion effect" window were speeds are laid out by percent and time. 100% is regular speed, 200% is twice as fast 0% is a freeze and anything with a negative is reverse. Am I missing something here?by ronsuss - Motion round trip back to FCP wierdness - 16 years agoI have a love hate relationship with Motion and the entire "round trip" to and from FCP. My biggest gripe is after spending a considerable amount of time building some beautiful motion graphic and returning to FCP, it renders out with wierd colors is completely purple or green. Anyone else having this issue and is there a solution? I love the convienence of the round trip but am temptedby ronsuss - Motion Re: FCP deletes rendered files at random - 16 years agohappens to me all the time as well. If its rendered and nothing has changed there is no reason it shouldn't stay rendered!by ronsuss - Café LA FCP 6 round trip to Shake problems - 16 years agoDoing a round trip from FCP6 to Shake 4.1, clips are 10 bit uncompressed, when rendering file out of Shake at 10 bit uncompressed clip is all noise. Negates the whole "round trip" as I have to render it out as an Animation codec to be usable. Any suggestions as to why all I get is noise on my 10 bit uncompressed renders?by ronsuss - Café LA Re: time code inconsitancy with EDL - 17 years agono timecode offset in setups was used and both VITC and LTC are being capturedby ronsuss - Café LA time code inconsitancy with EDL - 17 years agoIt appears that since the latest upgrade to 5.1.4 FCP is not outputting accurate EDLS. I have also noticed that digitized material is off by a minimum of two frames compared to the timecode on the source tapes (digital beta) and several lists for recent spots I have cut have been off by 4+ seconds on some shots. I am digitaizing through an AJA cona card.Anyone else having major TC issues.by ronsuss - Café LA |
