Click HERE to register now Re: The Final Cut Pro X Bug List - 12 years agoIt might technically not be a bug - but it's so dumb that I can't believe the FCPX developer team was letting this one slip through. When you copy and paste effects, all audio volume keyframes on the new clip get erased. I just found that one out the hard way after spending an hour fine tuning the dialogue of my cut with keyframes and everything. Then I wanted to copy and paste a few colorby THX1965 - Café LA - X Re: Lower Third - hairline bug - 12 years agoAndy: I know, my hairline problem could be many things. I am using Suitcase Fusion 3 for example. Who knows... It also didn't showed up until after a day or so. Not sure what changed. However, I am only using default fonts for those lower thirds. I am glad that at least the dublicate project lower third bug is reproducable. That's three in a short little project of 2 minutes of simple cuts with a few lower thirds... No comment..... In this new bug, certain lower third effects lose all their custom text entries when a project gets duplicated. Can be quite nasty, when you're working on a longer piece.... 1) Create a lower third text effect in a project, enter custome text and then dby THX1965 - Café LA - X Lower Third - hairline bug - 12 years agoAnd here is another one... I just applied a simple lower third (gradient center) to a few clips in my project and all of a sudden mysterious hairlines keep flashing in and out along a certain horizontal line in my lower thirds. It looks like a good old analog tape mystake. Creepy. But there is nothing else I did to the lower third. I just entered text and trimmed it of course. The bug showsby THX1965 - Café LA - X Re: The Final Cut Pro X Bug List: no iTunes metadata?!? - 12 years agoNow, I don't know if this is a bug or not, but considering the fact that FCP X is all about metadata, I am puzzled about this. FCP X cannot read metadata from iTunes files. What's even more puzzling is the fact that all the iTunes fields for music metadata are there, but they show up empty. I imported the song "Happy Birthday", which was purchased on the iTunes store. Great work! We need to hold Apple's feed to the fire or they'll never wake up.... I found two bugs: BUG #1: on "export audio" of a project, FCP X hangs on the very last few moments before it's done exporting. Hower, it still exports a playable file. It just never tells you it's done. Buggy indeed. Thanks for all your suggestions. It did some further systematic testing. It was notby THX1965 - Café LA - X Re: FCP X exported quicktime movie: distorted audio - 12 years agoJust did another little experiment: I started a fresh project. Dragged an m4a audio clip (iTunes Store) into the timeline. Settings are left at default (surround, 48kz ProRes). The timeline contains only one audio track. No video clips. Now I exported the project as audio only and chose AIFF as my export format. FCP X hangs after 10 seconds. Cannot finish the task. There seems to be a sby THX1965 - Café LA - X Re: FCP X exported quicktime movie: distorted audio - 12 years agoVery funny... First of all, as an experiment I just dragged a song purchased on the iTunes store into my project - no wait, event - I mean, timeline. The levels of the unmodified m4a file were of course maxed out - as is the case with most commercial tracks. So, out of caution I dragged the volume down quite a bit, so that the peak levels barely hit -6 dB. Nothing distorted when I played the pby THX1965 - Café LA - X Export Quicktime movie bug: distorted audio / Quicktime Error: -50 - 12 years agoI couldn't export a simple quicktime movie without either getting distorted audio in the exported movie (export quicktime movie) or running into a Quicktime Error:-50 when going through Compressor from within FCP X. Exporting the project as audio-only also resulted in the distorted audio. Levels, by the way, were more than fine in the FCP X project. Unless this is an isolated case, I'd say theby THX1965 - Café LA - X FCP X exported quicktime movie: distorted audio - 12 years agoNow this was a head scratcher today. We did a tiny little music video for private use and fun (isn't that what most editors are using FCP X for these days anyway?). When it was time to export the movie (just music - nothing else), the exported movie had distorted audio. I sounded heavily compressed with drop outs. Levels of the project were more than fine in FCP X. Not even orange. We owe you! Markusby THX1965 - Café LA - X Re: Working an a Widescreen effect - Any aspect ratio requests? - 12 years agoAlex - will this be a generator or a regular effect filter? We've been working with a (custom) widescreen-matte generator for the old FCP all these years. We've always found this to be easier to use instead of the built-in widescreen filter that you have to drop on each individual clip. We just dropped the generator on a video track above everything else (Avid-style...) Give the new STP clip a name and save this file together with the other media for your project!!!!!! This is important or you'll create a big mess. in STP you then mark a few seconds of your "by THX1965 - Café LA Re: Final Cut Studio 2 questions - 17 years agoI love the addition of gain/normalize in FCP. That's been on my list ever since we switched. It wasn't mentioned anywhere, so I think we still can't move more than one audio keyframe at a time. Or can we? There is one thing about Soundtrack Pro I'd really like to know. In the old version, when sending any clip to STP, the entire media file is sent. We work with entire 20-minute feature reelby THX1965 - Café LA |
