From the FCP timeline, FILE- Export - Using Quicktime Conversion, From here select AVi and then from options chose your DV codec to export with - should help you avoid 2 exports and re-compressing.... Al F.by AL - Café LA Jagged Edges - 16 years agoHi there, Looking for advice on a way to get better edges after adjusting an image so that it is smaller and has had a perspective change by using the distort tool. It looks fine when the adjustment is done but after rendering it looks really jagged at the the edges?? I'm not an After FX whiz so is there a way to fix this within FCP? Thanks in advance. Al F.by AL - Café LA FCP Broken Relationship - 16 years agoHi there, I have copied an entire project from one FCP suite to another ( Both running 5.1.4 on G5 Quad Macs). I have not consolidated using media manager - I have copied all the files in their full clip durations on to the other system across a simple ethernet set-up. When I press 'F' to match frame from the timeline, it does so fine, but 'SHIFT F' no longer matches back to the clip locatioby AL - Café LA Re: Unrendered Audio - during Edit to Tape - 16 years agoEverything seems fine now. Thanks all for the help. Have done this thousands of times and no issues but suddenly 4 different instances on the timeline give that beep-beep-beep sound during playout. All the audio in the sequence is from the same source recording(DVCAM PAL tape - recorded at 48khz and seq settings are set for this). Thanks Jude.by AL - Café LA Re: QUICKTIME 7.3.1 - 16 years agoI read an Apple article a while back that recommended not upgrading Quicktime at all until you next upgrade your FCP software. Your current version of FCP was streamlined for the release of Quicktime which was current at that time. If you upgrade Quicktime randomly without a later version of FCP you can run into problems simply because the newer version of Quicktime knows things your FCP softwaby AL - Café LA FCP / Canopus Codec Issues - 16 years agoHi there, Any advice on a fast efficient way to export quick time movies from FCP that can be read by non FCP users ( Like Canopus DV software users) without having to export from FCP and then having to open it in Quicktime and export (fcp).mov to (Quicktime).mov again for them to be able to read it. Is this simply a method of finding a common codec on our computers and then I export using Qby AL - Café LA Re: FCP BLURRY ENLARGEMENT ISSUES - 16 years agoThaks peeps, I am aware of the rendering all etc. Pressing ALT R on the keyboard automatically renders everything in sight without going to the menu even. The issue lies here for me: Maybe I am the only one to notice this/ maybe it is a pal issue but I urge you guys to try this and see if you can notice what I am about to tell you. Click on an image in the canvas in wireframe mode. It happens when I click on the image and pull out one of the corners to make the image bigger. Obviously there is always some loss when any image is enlarged but the amount of loss seems disproportionate to the amount enlarged. I heard it can somehow be solved by the way iby AL - Café LA Re: How do I set up a basic network for FCP? - 16 years agoThanks guys, Will follow up on those suggestions.by AL - Café LA How do I set up a basic network for FCP? - 16 years agoHi. I have 2 G5 2.5 quads and may soon be getting a third as I have a 26 part 1 hour drama heading my way. In advance I would like to find out how to set up an effective, efficient system to manage all the media that will be coming in. In other words to set up an efficient small network so that media can be captured on one machine and easily accessed by the others. Can anyone help or point to rby AL - Café LA Re: Moving Avid Xpress Pro HD Project over to FCP 5.1.1 - 16 years agoThanks Martin, The show is a cutdown I am told and I should not need extra footage to cut in. My biggest concern is losing all the grading as the show has been fairly heavily corrected in Avid. With that in mind I think your suggestion of a digital playout of the video clean and separate audio waves or AIFFs as opposed to going the Automatic Duck route which would be great for a drama or a pby AL - Café LA Re: Moving Avid Xpress Pro HD Project over to FCP 5.1.1 - 16 years agoThanks Andrew. The reason this needs to be done is that the current version of the show is almost completed for its first airing on the channel which commissioned it. Now another channel has bought the show and wants to cut it down in duration before it broadcasts it. The production company who made it are moving away from their place of post production (which uses Avid) and want me to cutby AL - Café LA Moving Avid Xpress Pro HD Project over to FCP 5.1.1 - 16 years agoHelp needed on moving a project from Avid to FCP. This is my first time to do this so looking for advice from someone who has been through it as it all feels a bit scary. I am moving a 13 part reality tv series from Avid to FCP. Can anyone tell me the details of preparing the edls. I have about 7 video tracks and 10 audio tracks. Would it be best to do an OMF export of the audio and separateby AL - Café LA |
