Click HERE to register now Better camera option to work with FCP - 14 years agoHello to everyone, could you guys advise me about what would be a good camre to edit with FC I want to shoot a concert with 4 or 5 small cameras and I was thinking about the sony HVRZ7U. Since this a just the time of a concert I dont need a lot of footage, so I think I can use a better format than HDV, I can record solid state, The sony has solid state but I think is HDV as well. What woulby maltess - Café LA Re: Problem in image quality creating a DVD - 14 years agoHello, is been recorded in SD MiniDV, in 16/9 (no letterboxed) but I dont think is a native 16/9 either since is a panasonic consumer camera, NV-GS250. Then I exported using quick time conversion, in options I select video size in Pal ( I am in europe) 720x576 16:9. I noted that if I leave it in compressor native or native, the ouput file is alwais 4:3 even if is in 16:9 and coming from a 16:9 prby maltess - DVD Studio Pro Problem in image quality creating a DVD - 14 years agoHello to everybody I am triying to make a DVD with a quicktime movie file that I created with FinalCut. This file is in 16/9 and looks great when I play ot in the computer using quicktime player. When I create de DVD and play it some quality is lost and the image is like jumping a little bit, I know the lost of quelity can be a normal thing due to compression, but the image jumping ... Can i rby maltess - DVD Studio Pro exporting DVCpro 50 editing and importing again to free HD space - 14 years agoHello to everyone I have an edit in DVCpro 50 which is like 120 minutes long, I would like to export this as a file and then import again the same file to Final Cut. This editing is the result of 20 hours of DVC pro 50 that are in my hard disk. If I do this I could clean the HD and work onlu with those 120 minutes, is not the final editing, I still have to work with that. The final destinarion is broadcast but it could be shwon in festivalas as well. In the canvas I can see a think black line in left and right. Should I resize a little just to cover those lines? the thing, since is a documentary, I am bringing photos and resizing then to 16:9 format, I dont know if i have to keep the two black lines format with photos, this is a litlle tricky. The project was shot with Panasonic 900 in DVCpro 50 in 16:9, so it is shot anamorphic. My big worry is in fact, How I should have the master? 16:9 or letter boxed, I don´t really know the benefits or problems about this, so please, if anyone can give some advice I would very much aprreciate. It is better to use an analog monitor or a Digital monitor. Apple sells a Mini DVI to Video adaptor with composite (RCA) and SVideo outputs, would this be enought to work with an analog monitor? or I need a canopus card to use conponent video, is this an important issue for the image in the monitor?. I am editing in a DV anamorphic sequeneces 1) I heard if I edit in 4:3 sequence with black bars in top of bottom I will have more room to reframe without loosing quality. I am editing a documentary with material from diffrent sources 1) It is posible to erase original subtitles in old imported footage? I guess maybe going frama by frame and cloning like in photoshopo you can do that. He gave a technical explanation that I can´t really put in wprds npw. But the conclusion is that , you only get real progressive when the data is not stored on tape, let´s say P2 or the sony recorder. I will take a look and try to learn this technique and see if is more convenient for me. The only thing is, if I want to keep the unedited material for the anything in the future, I guess I have to keep one big hard drive, is that a safe thing?by maltess - Café LA Re: choosind the right camera - 15 years agothe thing is I usually make a lot of footage, In the past I did a documentary witha DVCpro 50 camara, sdx 900, I think that was the model, and I dis like 40 hours to end up with a 90 minutes documentary. Then you always have the tape in case you need to review somethingm or if you wabt to keep this for the future, since it was mainly interviews, things you dont wabt to erase even if you are not uby maltess - Café LA Re: choosind the right camera - 15 years agoThe thing with P2 cards is that I need to do a lot of footage, long interviews atc. and edit all that later. I think with P2 something like that would be really expensive since I would need a few, or maybe dowload everyday to the computer and make a back uo copy as wellby maltess - Café LA Re: choosind the right camera - 15 years agoThanks very much for your advise. I will be shooting documentaries basicly, interviewa urban situatios, etc. mostly day time, but with night scenes as well. It does not matter SD or HD, I just think that probably MiniDV SD format is becomieng old and is better to use HDV, at the same time I have chacked Pana DVX100 wich seems affordable and a good camera. I ttok the HD to a prffesional service and they got the files recovered. Tey send me a new HD with exec files. I did something very simple that I cant remenber that converted the files to MOV and AVI. I did not use any program. Now I am triying to opn one of those that I did not convert. Than I have the same shot later with a darker and more nice color in the sky, but the building are too dark. I have bben said that is posible I can take the dark sky and the buildings with light and pus then toguether in the same shot. I am working in DVC pro 50 project with DVC pro video files maybe. Then I have a pictures and some other video formats but noy many. Could I erase all render files, and then render again only with what I have now in the project.
