We are getting a drop frame error in FCP 7 now when using Edit to Tape to run Tape exports. This is happening for all tape exports. A screengrab of one of these errors is below. We normally ran ouby totalsanka - Café LA Re: 3:2 pulldown HEADACHE - 13 years agoWe just tried uncompressed and we're still seeing the issue. We may try a new conversion of the 23.976 based edit to a progressive format (29.97p) instead.by totalsanka - Café LA Re: 3:2 pulldown HEADACHE - 13 years agoWe checked it out in Quicktime & and X. Unfortunately both versions of the player are playing back this way.by totalsanka - Café LA Re: 3:2 pulldown HEADACHE - 13 years agoGood question. I believe we were viewing in Quicktime X.by totalsanka - Café LA 3:2 pulldown HEADACHE - 13 years agoHey All, This is not particularly an FCP problem, but FCP is involved. Our project involves source 23.976 material (canon). We're editing (mostly in avid) and cross converting with an XDCAM deck to 59.94i. Then reingesting from xdcam into avid and adding some previously shot 29.97 material into the timeline. Upon export (Quicktime wrapper, dnx codec, 59.94i) the resulting QT file (by totalsanka - Café LA Hard drive Recovery - 15 years agoHey all, We have an important drive we need to recover. I believe there's a specialist based in Santa Monica who is the "go-to" guy for hard drive data recovery. Can anyone provide his info? Thanksby totalsanka - Café LA MXF log and transfer Preferences issue - 16 years agoSo now I'm importing mxf files (originally from p2) via log and transfer in FCP 6.0.2. I've checked the tutorials, but haven't found them addressing the codec issue below. 1. I want to ingest in native DVCPRO HD, not ProRes 422 or Apple Intermediate Codec (the only options I could find in log and transfer preferences). 2. Although my capture settings and project/sequence settings are setby totalsanka - Café LA Importing MXF files into FCP 6 - 16 years agoThink I figured it out, thanks guysby totalsanka - Café LA Firewire drives crashing FCP 5.1.2 - 17 years agoSo i installed 5.1.2 this morning, did necessary updates etc. Had a problem with FCP not opening project file when the firewire drives were connected. If i disconnect the drives, FCP works fine, opens the project file etc. If I disconnect drives and start FCP, then connect the drives it works okay but is a pain in the a** I have deleted preferences, checked my firewire cables, and my disby totalsanka - Café LA Re: FCP 5.1.2 crashes when opening 5.1 project file - 17 years agocleaning up the old drives fixed it, thanks!by totalsanka - Café LA Re: FCP 5.1.2 crashes when opening 5.1 project file - 17 years agoGood points all around, thanks. Trying to open a 5.1 project file and when I do, i get the spinning ball of death. This is really bad timing because we're doing a rough cut for the sundance deadline tomorrow! No other system changes have happened. Any ideas? Thanksby totalsanka - Café LA XML export crashing in FCP 5.1 - 17 years agoGood morning. Exporting XML from FCP 5.1. It's a large project (a feature doc). I'm exporting the entire project. Each time I export, Final cut ends up crashing. It will get maybe 60-70 percet through the export and then it crashes. I have noticed a few posts around about using color correction tools and FCP crashing upon xml export but that's not my case. Only thing that's happeneby totalsanka - Café LA Re: Canvas is not resizing video - 17 years agoThanks, I started a new project and had to start a new sequence in the project, copied everthing from the old sequence to the new. Voila. Had no idea projects got corrupted. Thanks!by totalsanka - Café LA Re: Canvas is not resizing video - 17 years agoIt gets weirder. I opened some other sequences in the project. Some (mostly earlier versions of the same sequence) had the problem. Most of the other sequences are fine though. Do sequences 'go bad?'by totalsanka - Café LA Re: Canvas is not resizing video - 17 years agoHmm. If I open a new project and import the clip, it resizes fine with wireframe. Does this mean I have a bad project file? If so, can I just copy all of my sequences/bins/etc into a new project?by totalsanka - Café LA Re: Canvas is not resizing video - 17 years agoThanks Jude. Yeah I wish it was working but it's not resizing in the canvas. It resizes in the viewer fine, but no changes are made to the clip, no changes are seen in the canvas. :-/by totalsanka - Café LA Canvas is not resizing video - 17 years agoHey lateniters, Got a fun one. I have a timeline with mixed formats. When I look at the timeline in the canvas, I am trying to resize some of the clips with the wireframe in the canvas to match the rest of the sequence. But when I resize the wireframe, the frame size doesn't change. If i go back to the timeline nothing has changed, no need to render because the frame size hasn't changby totalsanka - Café LA |
