Sometimes I am in a very bright room (a lot of sunlight) and I want to use the Litepanel to augment the daylight. Like fill in some shadow on a face. The light coming through the windows is about 9000 degrees kelvin. It is blue sky with green mountains below. How can I gel the 5600 degree kelvin Litepanel to match the light coming through the wby dbinghamnc - Café LA Say goodbye to MacBook Pro's with an Express 34 slot too. - 14 years agoIt's been nice and fast to download clips from my Sony EX1 right onto into my Mac Book Pro. Maybe I'll have a new camera with SD memory in a few years that will work with the new laptop.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: Audio and video in sequence not linked - - but should be. - 15 years agoThanks. Learn something new every day. It was only a matter of time before I found this obvious feature by mistake.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Audio and video in sequence not linked - - but should be. - 15 years agoI have this weird problem. On my Mac Pro computer, when I drag a clip into a sequence, the video and audio are not linked. If I drag the end of a video clip, only the video moves, not the audio. The clip names (video and 2 audio tracks) are underlined, so they indicate they are linked. I have never seen this. On my Mac Book Pro, using the same version of FCP, all is well. I am using FCP version 6by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoThe Uncompressed sequence worked very well. Non of the pixillation as with the ProRez sequence. The DVD was a tad better than the DV sequence method. The dark areas were better represented, the skin tone was a little better, and it did not have quite the same edge as you can get with DV. Thanks again.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoYou're right. It does work just like you stated. It's just that some weird pixillation crept into the process using the ProRez sequence. I'll stick with the Ken Stone DV sequence method. I just tried that method again and it looks great. This has been a nice rainy Sunday experiment. Thanks for all your help. I did learn something Gerard.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoI've used the Ken Stone method of creating SD DVD's for a year and it works great with 1080p30 footage. I was hoping for better DVD quality by exporting using a ProRez or Uncompressed 16x9 sequence. Maybe I should just stay with what works.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoI shot in 1080p30. The flickering is during playback on my HD TV. I've tried about a year ago to export an HD movie to compressor. The SD DVD looked crappy. That's when I started using the Ken Stone method of dropping the HD clip into a DV anamorphic sequence and exporting. The link is: When I use this method, it states in the Compressor inspector window: Format: M2V Width and Height: Autby dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoThanks. That worked as far as the correct aspect ratio. It looked great for 30 seconds then it started this flickering in and out pixelation of the image. I used the Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) NTSC 48 kHz Anamorphic sequence preset and dropped the HD clip into the sequence and exported as a self contained Quicktime movie.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoI just tried it and it doesn't quite work. I must be missing something. If I just change to the Pro Res compressor setting in the sequence settings it is still exporting an HD quicktime movie. I must need to change some additional settings in the sequence settings.by dbinghamnc - Café LA HD to Anamorphic SD DVD revisited - 15 years agoI have been using Ken Stone's method of converting my HD footage from my Sony EX1 to create anamorphic SD DVD. It works great. Right now I drop the HD sequence (copy and paste) into a DV anamorphic 16x9 sequence, render, export, use Compressor, etc. I have read about others copying their HD sequence into a ProRes (HQ) or 10-bit uncompressed anamorphic sequence. This makes sense to me since thiby dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD footage to SD DVD looks like CRAP!!!!! - 16 years agoI use Bitvise for some jobs. It does a better job in some cases. Like using a lot of still images. Maybe try the free download and see if it works.by dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: HD footage to SD DVD looks like CRAP!!!!! - 16 years agoI think the real problem is that shooting 30p and then encoding an SD DVD causes an interlace flicker. If my delivery format is SD DVD then I shoot in 1080 60i. There are no flicker problems here. Hopefully Compressor will be able to handle the conversion of HD progressive into SD mpeg-2 in a future version, but it obviously can't yet. People are having the same problem on the DV Info forum the Cby dbinghamnc - Café LA Re: So... any news from the Super Meet? - 16 years agoA new free upgrade for DVD Studio Pro with Blue-Ray authoring support plus a free Blue-Ray burner for anyone who has bought a Mac Pro within the last two years. . . .
