Thanks again guys....its great!!!!!by ECupps - Café LA Re: TITLES NOT SHARP IN FCP - 15 years agoHey everyone...I changed the sequence settings from DV to ProRes....yes, that DV stuff is nasty....I also changed my RT to safe and changed the fields dominance to lower and the QT setting to ProRes422. I then changed the frame rate and resolution in the sequence settings>render control and to 100% which were previously set at 50%. I think that this is the one that really fixed it. Eveby ECupps - Café LA Re: TITLES NOT SHARP IN FCP - 15 years agoWOW!!!! Great responses guys!!!! I wish I would have logged on over the weekend to give immediate answers, but "the weekend" got in the way!! I do have a broadcast monitor for viewing and when I play back the video is not crisp on the monitor either and the audio does not follow video, is seems to be about 2 frames off, but A/V agreement is fine in FCP. Isn't jaggie a tby ECupps - Café LA Re: TITLES NOT SHARP IN FCP - 15 years agoSorry...forgot to include the vitals: FCP 6.0.2 Mac OSX (2) 465gb stratch drives, less than 50% full.by ECupps - Café LA TITLES NOT SHARP IN FCP - 15 years agoWhen I export files from Motion/LiveType etc...I render each file as a NTSC DV quicktime. When I open them seperately, they look great, nice crisp lines. I import them into FCP and then the crispness is lost, Check out this super: Any tips on how to keep these looking sharp?! I have even rendered the entire sequence, exported as a QT, DV NTSC and its still blurry. The lines on the swoby ECupps - Café LA Re: Your Dream Server/RAID?!? - 16 years ago"It would be helpful if you told us what your budget is, what amount of storage your looking for and what format you'll be editing -- also define what you mean by "simultaneous access."" We are currently in the discovery process....no real budget set in stone, but it would be safe to say that we would spend at least 15K for servers/applications. We currently edit DV, shoby ECupps - Café LA Re: Your Dream Server/RAID?!? - 16 years agoI heard that the workflow wasn't very reliable and interfacing it with workstations was difficult. Considering you said that you need IT guys to hook it up would justify that claim.by ECupps - Café LA Re: Your Dream Server/RAID?!? - 16 years agoGreat thanks for your response! Does anyone else have suggestions for shared file systems? Whats the final opinion of FCP Server?!?!by ECupps - Café LA Your Dream Server/RAID?!? - 16 years agoGreetings, Been reading the threads for awhile now and lots of great advice! I did a check on FCP Server or other RAID/Storage systems and kind of came up empty handed. I work in a small corporate video dept. and we are looking to house hundreds of hours of video/pictures on a server for all of us to access simultaniously. I have some research and found some iffy reviews of FCP Server...by ECupps - Café LA Re: Extreme Editing : Up a Mountain - 16 years agoI just got back from Machu Picchu Peru. I spent 4 days hiking along the Inka Trail. It was an amazing experience. We had a small mini-dv camera and did some filming, but nothing worthy of a "production". While I can't comment on what gear to bring, I can tell you, that you need to be very careful with acclimitazation to the altitude. We hiked to 14,000 feet and it really messedby ECupps - Café LA Re: Speakers? - 16 years agoIm using two KRK (KROCKS) CE-247. 100watts a piece coming from a crown D-45 amp, mixed by a Mackie 1402. I believe the only studios that publish to HD-DVD are Universal Pictures, WB and Paramount?!? Regardless, when Wal-Mart picks a brand, thats a huge!! RIP-HD-DVDby ECupps - Café LA Re: Vision mixing? Is it so hard? - 16 years agoYou described me perfectly!!! Vision mixing or "TD'ing" is tough, but your situation is going to be a breeze! Good director and good camera ops, you'll be fine. You can always play the "thats what you called" game......ALWAYS make sure you look before you take!!by ECupps - Café LA Re: I need a checklist for my first BIG Edit project on HD - 16 years agoSo a family walks into a Talent Agency.....hahahahha! Wadda call it?!? THE ARISTOCRATS!!by ECupps - Café LA Re: Pulsing Video - 16 years agoThanks for the response.... It only appears to be this specific tape that is having the problem...yes the deck is old, however it was recently serviced. I shot another segment yesterday, played back the tape and ingested into FCP, no problem without the lines. I have tried to recapture the footage, but still get the lines...unfortunately, they are outside of the title safe area, but theyby ECupps - Café LA Pulsing Video - 16 years agoGreetings!! It's my first post, and what a plethora of info...great forum!! My captured video seems to "pulse" with some faint black lines in the upper right corner. During capturing, there was no "pulsing" nor does it appear on the tape during regular playback. I'm capturing from a Beta SP deck and have not had issues before. I tried a flicker filter and have had no luby ECupps - Café LA |
