This software requires hardware or software which is missing. Quartz Extreme Support. I have tried re-installing Studio One (FCP vers 5.1) but fcp is greyed out. I went ahead and upgraded DVD studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Cinema Tools, Compressor, Motion and I still cannot open FCP. What should I do? Should I trash fcpby Tom - Café LA Re: Config Error - 16 years agoI am having the same problem. I am using a G5 Power PC dual 1.8. I think my Assistant attempted to upgrade to FCP 6 but there was not enough memory to complete the upgrade so it was aborted. Now I am unablew to open FCP. When I try to re-instal FCP5.1 Studio FCP is greyed out. Do I need to physically drag FCP to trash and then re-install? Many thanks Tomby Tom - Café LA Re: Apple Pro Res HD workflow - 16 years agoHi Clay Yes it I go to my raw captured footage in the Scratch Disk and open it in QuickTime it does play in sync. I will try to put the offset back to 4 frames. Talk to you Tuesday. Tomby Tom - Café LA Re: Apple Pro Res HD workflow - 16 years agoHi Clay There is and I have adjusted it to O frames offset and I am still getting a latency problem. Which does not make sense when I can open the raw capture in QuickTime and play it back thru the computer in sync. My ram configuration is I bought a Mac Pro Tower with 1 gb (2 x 512) of ram and then added 4 GB (2 x 2GB). 4 core dual Intel 2.66 Does ram have anything to do with Playback lby Tom - Café LA Re: HD workflow advice in advance - 16 years agoHi Shane No documentary is for TV and promotions for the larger project which is an Imax film. First release will be in North America and then in Europe. I was not asked prior to the shoot or else I think I would have asked him to shoot 23.98fps. But he shot in 24fps and I thought it best to capture and edit in 24fps. Would Coinema Tools be the best way to convert 24fps footage to 23.98fpsby Tom - Café LA Re: HD workflow advice in advance - 16 years agoIf my project was shot on Sony HDW-F900R at 1080psf 24fps. Would you recommend editing at 24fps in FCP or should I use Cinema tools to convert captured footage to 23.97 Tomby Tom - Café LA Re: Apple Pro Res HD workflow - 16 years agoHi Clay No the video deck is out of the equation. I rented the deck to capture 30 tapes. During the capture the interviews were in sync. I have returened the deck and now when I play the captured footage thru the Kona card (SDI out of Kona card to the monitor and audio out of balanced XLR of Kona card to a mixer and then to powered speakers.) Tomby Tom - Café LA Re: Apple Pro Res HD workflow - 16 years agoI am capturing HDcam 1080psf 24 to 1080spf 24Apple Pro Res 422. During Capturing the HD monitor is in sync. However we I go to playback in fcp there is a latency to the audio. I am using AJA Kona LHe capture card. SDI out of the deck to SDI in LHe card. Tech support at AJA were suggesting that there might be a problem with my RAM configuration. Ram should be 2GB, 8GB or 16GB when playing baby Tom - Café LA Capturing 1080psf 24 fps HD cam - 16 years agoI am working on a documentary that was shot on a Sony HDcam at 24fps 1080psf.
