If anyone is using this workflow, I'd love to hear what hardware you are using and what your experience is with this drive. thank you, apmendeby apmende - Café LA Re: Looking for Good Esata Card for MacPro1, 1 - 14 years agoThanks for all of the info. I want to get a faster throughput when editing so I would like to use the esata connection. What is a good brand to buy and also where is a good place to buy the card? Apple is a little expensive so I wouldn't mind buying from another retailer. It is very time consuming to disconnect and reconnect drives. I was wondering if going to an offline RT workflow would save us time? The initial recompressing of the files would be time consuming but I believe most, if not all, of the media would fit on 1TB drive. We would also be able to do this on 3 machines overnight. This seems like the easiest route and it's only about an hours worth of footage.by apmende - Café LA Mixing Frame Rates in Timeline - 15 years agoThese 2 frame sizes and frame rates were shot and imported into FCP. 1280 x 720 @ 59.94 1920x1080 @ 29.97 When I insert them into the timeline, it jitters/stutters. Which timeline should I use the 59.94 or the 29.97. I would assume that you would create a HD timeline at 1920x1080 @ 29.97 and conform the other 1280x720 into that timeline. Am I wrong or is there a work-around. In other words, if it filled 3 secs in the timeline, it will now fill one second and the other 2 seconds will not be there. We are working with over 5 tbs of footage so when we finish the project and deliver a drive to the client, we only need the sequence media.
