Posted on the Matrox users forum it said by one of the support people that “Support for Windows 10, OS X El Capitan and future releases of Adobe, Avid, Apple and other apps is not planned.“ No explanation was given. What is really interesting/crazy is that the Matrox MX02 units are still for sale. Who does that?by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Does X work with RED footage natively or does it transcode? - 9 years agoJoe, be sure to burn the FCPX app that is in your apps folder to a DVD or something. If for some reason you blow a your boot drive you will not be able to go to the app store and download the 10.0.9 version of FCPX. But if you have it saved somewhere and you drag it into the new apps folder and go to the app store. It will see it and it will activate it. This happened to me and I was glad I saveby Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Still using FCP 7 - 9 years agoFirst I would download the demo version of FCPX and make sure it runs okay on your computer and put it through it's paces. Then ask the question again.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Does X work with RED footage natively or does it transcode? - 9 years ago10.2 is a big upgrade and seems to run faster. I'm running it on Yosemite 10.10.3. Once in awhile while working in FCPX I get the spinning color beach ball of death. Have not tried Red footage but FCPX was able to work with Arri Alexa 4K footage.by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: New Creative Cloud Apps - auto animation - 9 years agoI think that new feature is going to get me in troubleby Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: DSLR footage - Master export to Pro Res or Pro Res HQ? - 9 years agoSince the original footage is from a DSLR, I would say exporting a master as regular Pro Res will be fine. HQ I think will be overkill. Your second question I'm not sure about. I've done both where I export a master Pro Res file, then created a .mp4 from it. I've also exported straight from the timeline to create a .mp4. I haven't noticed any difference in quality. Hope that helps!by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Audio Issues - 9 years agoOn this web page is a tutorial on how to fix your audio problem in FCPX. Do you have a Matrox driver installed?by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Help with Audio - 10 years agoIf you are getting audio distortion from clipping the highs. I don't know of any trick in X or any other software that will fix that. It pretty much comes down to a re-shoot and try to get the audio in the correct dB range. Your average should stay around -12 to -6 dB's. Just don't go over -6 at your peak. If you do that you should be safe.by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Help with Audio - 10 years ago"audio is pretty "spiky." But is the audio clipping? To start off I wouldn’t of adjusted the volume way down yet. Apply the “Limiter” filter: Limiter Filter How to! It pretty much has the same Apple warranty as a buying a new one. We were just afraid of buying a used Mac from those online stores. They all had a lot of bad reviews. Didn't want to take a chance. I don't think I can go wrong buying it from Apple…by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Ray Trace on new Mac Pros - 10 years agoThanks, Jude for those link to the reviews, It was most helpful. It seems I do a lot of rendering of video footage and AE projects. I'm not considering the iMacs as all. I was looking into a used 8 core Mac Pro. So comparing those to the new Mac Pro, the new one is pretty powerful side by side over the the older Mac Pros. I'm coming from a Mac Pro 1,1. So the any of the new Mac Pros and iMacs areby Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Ray Trace on new Mac Pros - 10 years agoI'm thinking of getting the new Mac Pro. I don't really have a need to use the Ray Trace 3D in AE. I'm big think is what would be the best processor to order with it without spending too much money. I'm wondering it the 3.7GHz quad-core would be enough for working in FCPX 10.1, Motion 5, Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC, Speedgrade CC and DaVinci Resolve 11 lite?? Or should I step up to the 3.5Gby Russ Blaise - Café LA Buying a used Mac Pro advice… - 10 years agoI am in the market for a used Mac Pro that will not cost me over $1,500. I need to make sure the Mac Pro I buy can run FCPX 10.1, Motion 5, Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC without a problem. What I use now is the Mac Pro 1,1 (2 x 2.66, 16GB ram, ATI 5770) with a CalDigit VR. It's a dog! It just can't keep up anymore. Plus I can't upgrade the OS after Lion.
