ALmost everyone is taking digital delivery now (except for a stubborn few). I have used good old QT Pro for uprez to ProresHQ for broadcast. No. I downloaded it and installed it. It is part of the Premiere CS6 bundle, which you can see for yourself. ...it is FOR NOW (I never disputed that), which is my point. Who knows when it will stop? NOBODY (that's what I dispute). Thanks - cheersby grafixjoe - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 11 years agoJon - yes - thank you. We are on the same page. Gerald - nobody said "the sky was falling". That's a bit dramatic, don't you think? Your theories & opinions are just as strong the other way...and that's what they are...theories & opinions...as you cannot possibly have hard facts to present that states Adobe will never pull ANYTHING from their servers. Not by a long shot. The onlt permanent thing is when they pull the software from their servers, you won't be able to access it. Jon hit it...what I am talking about by "DEAD". Please post this on their website as well. They are getting pounded with similar stories and a petition with over 36,000 signatures so drop yours in the "Feature Request / Feedback" area on the Adobe site. I have a question for you my brother (Devil's Advocate time)... These rapid-fire updates that will now be immediately available as they are created by Adobe for CC...how do we know that updating will not break something else in our systems? They claim it is very quiet because of this design. It is only 9.9 inches tall and 6.6 inches wide. This is not meant to go on or near the floor. It's more the shape of a large coffee grinder than a trash can...but with a$$-kicking render abilities. This machine is aimed directly at US...not the iPhone / iPad crowd. Thank you Apple. Uh...yeah. That's why you don't shoot in H264. You are already destroying your colorspace before you get to Post and you cannot put back what is not there to begin with. Running the risk of sounding like a snob, I have yet for someone to hand me H264 shoot matby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Cutting a doc and debating which NLE, and what Codec - 11 years agoYou're right Jude = horses for courses. Depends what you are doing with the footage as well. Wouldn't dream of using or recommending H264 in a compositing / keying / tracking project...the color information is garbage. If there are weak standards for delivery, it really doesn't matter. Try submitting an H264 for broadcast.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Cutting a doc and debating which NLE, and what Codec - 11 years agoQuoteH264 may be a delivery format, but people are cutting in it. So? People cut with WMVs too...doesn't mean it's a good idea. I only use H264s for exporting for approval or to post on a website.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Cutting a doc and debating which NLE, and what Codec - 11 years agoI don't do long format so I cannot speak to that but I do know that H264 is a delivery format - not an edit format (highly compressed). I am currently working on 5K RED RAW (R3D) footage converted to prores in QT Pro for an After Effects composite project. It's the only edit / master codec I use.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Creative Cloud Open Letter - 11 years ago10,354 sigs & climbing...by grafixjoe - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Creative Cloud Open Letter - 11 years agoQuoteThe cloud was already an option for people who wanted it.
