I believe its in the scene file menu in camera mode.by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Will Color Install on a Laptop w a Large Ext. Monitor - 16 years agoAnd you can transfer just a clip from FCP 6 to Color. Also I have a suspicion that Jamie is monitoring thru the Presentation mode of MXO in Color, not the mastering mode we would need for bradcast correction.by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Will Color Install on a Laptop w a Large Ext. Monitor - 16 years agoShane: I cannot monitor Color thru the MXO. The option in Color for video output reads Disabled. MXO viewing options are all greyed out. I have FCP 6 on a G5 and everything else works OK. Tomby Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Will Color Install on a Laptop w a Large Ext. Monitor - 16 years agoJust installed FCP 6 and My MXO will not monitor Color. If you get yours to work please advise how. Thanks, Tomby Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Burn menu only? - 16 years agoI just finished burning a DVD with over 100 menus only (no video tracks or stories) as an educational interactive tool. In order for DVDSP to burn the project I had to build and format. Just clicking BURN would not work.by Tom Jackson - DVD Studio Pro P2 import screen - 17 years agoJust got an HVX-200 and am trying to import P2 media. Everything goes OK until I select the import Panasonic P2 option in File/Import. I get no new screen at all, no new import P2 window appears. I have downloaded the Pansonic driver and have the proper P2 folders on another drive ready for import. Am using FCP 5.1.4 with OS 10.4.9 and latest Quicktime. Anyone else having this problem? Thanksby Tom Jackson - Café LA Compressor reduces audio level on Dolby AC3 conversions - 17 years agoWhy does the audio level of AIFF files consistently get reduced when converting to Dolby AC3 files for DVDSP authoring? When compared side by side to the original AIFF file in DVDSP levels are considerably lower and are too low in the resulting DVD. This is annoying when the AIFF files are at proper level.by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Compressor "unable to connect to background process" - 17 years agoDerrick: I found a workaround to make compressor work as usual. Here are directions: Open Utilities app and then open Terminal. Type in exactly as follows: sudo /Library/StartupItems/Qmaster/Qmaster Then type in your password "starting Qmaster services" should appear Type in exit You should now be able to open Compressor and have it function properly. As a side note, I neverby Tom Jackson - Café LA DVD limitations - 17 years agoTrying to create an educational inter-active DVD and am confused about the limitations of the format. The manual says only 99 tracks and stories per disc, but also says only 98 stories per track. Is it in fact possible to have multiple tracks with 98 stories in each track on the same disc? Thank You, Tomby Tom Jackson - DVD Studio Pro Re: Compressor "unable to connect to background process" - 17 years agoYes, several times (I followed the Apple directions exactly) After each time Compressor will submit a batch as normal, UNTIL you shut down. Upon reboot, the dreaded message re-displays and Compressor is basically unusable.by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Compressor "unable to connect to background process" - 17 years agoRe-installed the latest Pro Apps Update 2006-02, but to no avail. only thing that works is to follow the advise in the FAQ thread which requires opening Terminal and typing in commands to open Qmaster services. Then all is fine until I re-boot, at which point I must type in commands in Terminal again. Pain in the butt!by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Compressor "unable to connect to background process" - 17 years agoThat's interesting, because Software Update shows I have installed the last two Pro Apps Updates but the receipts are missing in the receipt folder. And when I try to re-install them, the installer will not allow it. Says the computer does not need them. Yech!.by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Compressor "unable to connect to background process" - 17 years agoDon't have any Third party anti-virus software. And I followed all steps in the apple notice. And all works well until I reboot the computer. Then Compressor reverts back to not submitting anything and displaying warning message. The Cluster box also then reverts to: None Available instead of This Computer. Please advise. Thanks, Tomby Tom Jackson - Café LA Compressor "unable to connect to background process" - 17 years agoThis has been discussed before and I searched the FAQs, but couldn't find a good answer. Compressor 2.3 delivers Unable to connect to background process when submitting anything. After both re-installing Compressor and QMaster as per the Apple support directions, and trashing compressor play list, the app works until the computor is shut down. Then after reboot, the dreaded unable to connect to bby Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: help! - 17 years agoDave: How do you bounce a Realtime effect to the Actions palette to make it a process effect? Can't seem to figure it out. Using a Matrox MXO to display the footage to the monitor. Does anyone have any experience with this set up? Matrox recommended it as a lower cost option for broadcast color correction.by Tom Jackson - Café LA Re: Import template from IDVD to DVDSP - 17 years agoChris: Sorry for the delay in response. I was out of town. Yes you can open the template in iDVD viewer, save as whatever in a folder, and then open that as a new project in DVDSP. Otherwise it will not import. And it only works with iDVD4 templates and older. Tomby Tom Jackson - DVD Studio Pro Re: Import template from IDVD to DVDSP - 17 years agoYou can only import templates from iDVD 4 and earlier. You have to save them as a project out of iDVD to a separate folder and then open them as a new project into DVDSP. They should open intact with all the drop zones and effects.by Tom Jackson - DVD Studio Pro Replacing graphics card - 17 years agoMy ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Special Edition just died. Since my dual 2 GB G5 has a PCI-X slot I am having trouble finding a replacement. All the new cards are PCI Express. Is it possible to still acquire a PCI-X graphics card?by Tom Jackson - Café LA |
